Magnus open his eyes. The brightness of the sky against his eyes caused his head to pound. He closed them for a while, then opened them more adjusted to the brightness. A Seraph Blade barley missed his throat.
"Jace," yelled Clary as she grabbed Jace's arms, failing to hold them back. "You can't attack Magnus. He helped us to the ship. He helped us win!" Jace brutally pushed Clary of him, Luke catching her in his arms.
"Yes, but he's one of them, Clary," he yelled as he grabbed Magnus by the neck, lifting him with ease. Magnus struggled to release Jace's grip on him. He tried to use his magic, but only blue smoke came from his palms. Simon stood in the middle of the truck, which was now on the cement road by the land. His pale face was bathed in sunlight, shocking Magnus.
Magnus started to gasp for air as Jace started to smile. Magnus felt his head get heavier, and his vision became blurrier. Jace's grip on the warlock released, as Magnus feel to his hands and knees, taking in deep breaths. He looked up, seeing Clary holding her mother's stele, and the Calm rune on Jace's neck.
"What, the Hell!" Clary backed up, shocked at Jace's tone. Her green eyes were starting to spill tears.
"You were going to kill him. Your brother's boyfriend," she looked at Magnus with worried eyes.
"Alec is not my brother," he spoke with a voice like venom. His golden eyes were looking from Clary, to Magnus. "My brother is Max. Maybe even Simon. You and Isabelle are my sisters. Alec," he stopped, clutching his right shoulder, where his parabatai rune has already faded out. "Alec is a monster. He is a freak of nature. He is a demon. But I put an end to worthless life."
Magnus felt like a dagger was sent through his heart and neck. "What!" He jumped of the truck, stumbling as he still felt weak from his power drainage. He saw Maryse and Robert looking over a white sheet. Magnus ran to the Lightwood parents and saw that the white sheet was covering Alec's body except his face.
Magnus gelt a tear roll down his face as he saw Alec. His face was paler then usual, and his black hair was coated with dried blood. He stared at Maryse and Robert, who both had a smile on their faces.
"Why are you smiling at you son's death," he asked, purposely making it sound rude. The two Lightwoods moved their heads to look at Magnus.
"He wasn't our son. He didn't deserve the angel blood that ran in him," spoke Robert harshly as Maryse nodded in agreement. "He deserved to die. As well as the rest if his kind." Magnus ignored the hate that both Robert and Maryse gave to him and Alec, and kneeled down next to him.
Magnus examined the body of his boyfriend, looking for someway to save him. He'd lost a lot of blood, but Magnus found something odd. He sensed vampire blood in him. It was a little bit of blood, but enough for him to be reborn.
"Can I take him?" He asked Maryse and Robert, who looked down on him with disgust.
"Take it? What are you going to do with it, warlock?" Asked Robert, crossing his arms against his chest.
"I wanted to give him a proper funeral. I know your probably going to abandon him in a dumpster for a mundane to find," spoke Magnus harshly as he already picked Alec up bridal style. He walked toward Clary and Simon, who were now alone talking about him being able to walk in the sun.
"Clary. Simon. I need your help." Clary stared at Alec's limp body in Magnus's arms. She was about to say something, but Simon cut her off.
"What do you want us to do with Alec's body?"
"I was able to find vampire blood in him. He can become one if we bury him," explained Magnus as he began to hurry toward Central Park, with Clary and Simon racing after him.
