Magnus knocked on the wooden door frame. Alec wondered who Ragnor Fell was. Magnus described him as being his oldest warlock friend and the High Warlock of London. He didn't have any photos of Ragnor, because when cameras came out, Magnus and Ragnor would usually communicate with messages, or the telephone.
"WHO DARE DISTURBS THE HIGH WARLOCK OF LONDON ON HIS VACATION!" Yelled a deep voice, similar to the voice of Magnus when he yelled.
"The High Warlock of Brooklyn and his vampire fiancé disturbs thee, High Warlock of London," answered Magnus, looking annoyed. Alec felt some sort humor within the tones of both warlocks. A chuckle was heard from the other side of the door, followed by heavy footsteps. The wooden door then slammed, revealing a green skinned with white hair and black horns. He looked fairly young, but the white hair made him look older.
"Magnus Bane," yelled the man Alec assumed was Ragnor Fell. "It's been a long time. I was thinking you weren't going to come." Magnus scoffed as Ragnor patted his back. Alec saw that his fingers all had extra joints in them.
"This is really important Rags, I need the Book of the White to reverse a curse that was placed on Alec's family by Augustus Spark." Alec nodded, wanting to get the book in time for the wedding. He always wanted his family to be there when he finally married the man he loved. Now, his family didn't even want him alive.
"Yes, that does sound important," the green warlock said, walking back into the cottage. Magnus pulled Alec into the house, as Ragnor sat down. The couple followed in example, hands still interlocked with each other's. "But, I don't have the Book of the White."
"What?" Yelled Alec, jumping from the couch. He raved toward Ragnor, and pulled him up from the front of his bathrobe, showing that Ragnor wasn't wearing anything underneath. "What do you mean you don't have the fucking Book of the White?" Ragnor chucked, as green flames came from his hands, causing a cloud of green smoke to appear. Alec jumped, and dropped Ragnor, who fell on the couch.
"The Book of the White was always with Jocelyn Morganstern. She hid it in Wayland Manor. The only problem is that Clarissa Morganstern also wants the book, to wake her mother from her magic influenced coma." Ragnor played with the belt of his bathrobe.
"We knew that," spoke Magnus, pulling Alec back on the couch."She is our friend and the book is critical to both of us, and we will be willing to share the book."
"I guess that would work," said Ragnor,"but the Wayland Manor-as every other Shadowhunter manor-has a spell, preventing Downworlders or Demons to enter, unless they are brought with a Shadowhunter, which is more then unlikely."
Alec looked like he was about to speak, when the door frame burst from its hinges. Demons filled the room, grabbing all three of them and pushing them toward the floor. They were an unknown race of demon, as well as Magnus knew.
Their skin was like cracked black stone, with green ooze coming from the cresses. They stood at least at seven feet, and looked humanly in shape. Two golden circles were at top on their foreheads, like eyes, and a golden oval was were a mouth should be.
The one that held Ragnor made a crumbling noise, and a six foot man replaced him. His skin was pale, with red marks trailing up and down his torso. They were demonic runes. Ones that Magnus saw once.
The demon holding Magnus made the same crumbling noise as the first, followed by the two holding Alec. A young boy, around Alec's age, held Magnus down with force. His golden hair was tied in a ponytail. It was long enough that it still reached Magnus's face.
"Where is the White Book?" Asked the man holding Ragnor.
"I do not know where it is," answered Ragnor in a straight face.
"Master Augustus told us that the White Book was here," said a girl holding Alec down. Her hair was in a long ponytail like the boy holding him, and held by a wooden steak, another at Alec's neck.
"What do we report back Lucius?" Asked the other man holding down Alec. He looked middle aged, with a black and pink Mohawk.
"We killed said target," said the supposed leader-Lucius. "With two bystanders. The ones Augustus wanted."
"Augustus Spark?" Asked Alec, not moving.
"The High Warlock of Edom," said the blond.
Edom.
"That's why those marks looked familiar," Magnus said out loud. "Those are the marks of the damned. Those to never live with souls or hearts, yet live. Those who defeated the Nephilim in the Demon realms.
"My father rules the realm. He is the Prince of Hell, Asmodeus. He is the leader of you all, and if you kill a son or daughter of his realm, there will be worst then hell to pay." Alec gawked at Magnus, as well as Ragnor. Lucius stayed put, his hand around Ragnor's throat.
"Let the Ruler's son go," he spoke at last.
"And the Warlock of London, and my fiancé," Magnus demanded as the blond boy let him go. The leader waved his hand, as if commanded them to do the same. Alec raced toward Magnus and brought him in an embrace.
"Master Valentine will not be pleased. Nor will Master Jonathan," spoke the girl.
"Jonathan?" Asked Alec, looking toward Lucius.
"Jonathan Morganstern. He is Valentine's eldest child. Poor soul, he is. Injected with demon blood while in his mother's womb. As demons ourselves, we know who being born like a monster is," he smirked.
"Jace was injected with demon blood?" Alec asked, looking at Magnus with sad eyes.
"Wrong Jonathan," said a voice. Everyone in the room whipped around and saw Valentine Morganstern, and a boy with similar features, his hair slightly darker. "Jonathan Herondale is one of the experiments with angel blood that almost got away. I saved him from dying in his mother's womb, when she killed herself over her husband's death. He was eight months along when she did, and he still became a powerful Shadowhunter."
"Why do you need the Book of the White?" Asked Ragnor, straightening his robe, tightening the belt.
"It's one if the most powerful books that has ever to live. And I need more power, to destroy Downworlders."
"So you need a Downworlder, to destroy them?" Asked Magnus.
"Yes," said the black haired boy. "The question is why you four didn't kill them?" The four demons took a step back.
"The High Warlock of Brooklyn is our leader, and the other two is his fiancé, and best friend. Asmodeus will not be pleased knowing his oldest son was killed by his princess's son."
"He is also Augustus's enemy," yelled Valentine toward Lucius. "And he is the High Warlock of Edom. He is powerful. He even made the Inquisitor and Consul make the Fag of a Shadowhunter mundane. Shame too, he was also one of my experiments, as well as he precious little sister."
"That Fag, of a Shadowhunter, is the fiancé to the Brooklyn Warlock," hissed Alec, feeling his fangs fly out. "And what do you mean you experimented on me and Isabelle."
"I did five experiments," explained Valentine," Two with demon blood, the three with angel. Jonathan Herondale, Isabelle, and Clarissa were injected with angel blood. You and my son," he gestured toward the black haired boy," were injected with demon blood. The same is that the only thing that the blood did, was made you gay. Your eyes didn't grow emotionless, your not cold hearted, but you cannot find love."
Alec froze.
He had demon blood in him.
He was an experiment. A weapon for Valentine.
And what about not finding love? What was the felling a he felt when he was around Magnus? Maybe it's jest the satisfaction of being cruel, tricking him to fall in live, to only break his heart.
"Alec, don't listen to him," said Magnus. "He's trying to trick you."
"I'm not," said Valentine. "Alec, as you call him, is not coldhearted like Jonathan, but he will grow into it. He was injected the least of the bunch, so he will eventually. But till then, I'll see you soon." He waved his hand, and Jonathan and the demons left.
Alec stayed stiff, thinking of everything.
He was injected with demon blood at birth. Felt like a monster when he found out he was gay at thirteen. Got kicked out of his family when he came out. His family hates him. He became a daylighter. It was to much for him to handle.
"I need a rest," he said to no in particular.
"I'll be in soon," said Magnus in a soft, calming voice.
"Don't," Alec snapped. "I need to be alone." Magnus looked like he was going to say something, but nodded. Alec raced to one of the cottage's spare bedrooms, and fell on the white covered sheets. He cried, not caring that the sheets will turn red by morning.
