We arrived home after our hour long surf together and my brother was outside on the porch

"Kai? What's wrong?" I asked and Grayson stood beside me

"It's nothing sis, just go inside I made dinner" Kai said

I sat beside him and sighed "I'm your sister, tell me what's wrong" I said sternly

"You look just like mom" he chuckled

"I'll be inside" Grayson said as he ruffled my hair, I nodded

Once I heard the front door close I asked Kai what was wrong again

"I have some work to attend to in Manchester and I have to leave by tomorrow morning with the boys" he sighed

I took a shaky breath in

"You were called in? S-so who am I gonna stay with?" I asked

"Well Grayson never trained as long as Kalani, Brock and I, so Grayson will stay here with you" He smiled weakly

"Just like last time" he finished

My brother was in the military with Kalani And Brock. They haven't been called in ever since Mom died which was two years ago.

There was a silence for a bout two minutes "So , how long are you going for?" I whispered

"I'll be back before your school starts. I want to be here for you especially because it's your last year in school" Kai chuckled at the end

I smiled. I could never be mad at my brother. He's such a sweetheart, but at times he can be a dumb shit.

"Well. As long as you and the boys are gonna be safe then yeah it's alright" I smiled and hugged my brother

"Your the best sister I could ever ask for" Kai whispered as he held onto me

"Hey now don't make this a cliche moment you dork" I smirked and giggled

"We were just gonna head off tonight only because we need to get this other shit done if that's okay with you? You have Grayson here as well" Kai smiled

"What about your girlfriend?" I rolled my eyes

"She's not gonna stick around while I'm not there. She's just gonna stay with her parents until we come back" Kai said

I nodded "I guess this is it" I smiled slightly and stood up, Kai did the same

"I'm so proud of you Kai" I said happy as I hugged him

The front door opened and out came all the boys, including Grayson. They all had their bags and shit all packed

I sighed and stared tearing up, I'm gonna miss them. (Remember Grayson's not going)

We all said our goodbyes, the boys easily hugged it out but I just couldn't let go of Kai.

I cried so hard and he was needing to get away because the Uber was here to pick them up, but I just couldn't see him go again

"Josey! Hey, shhh calm down" Kai cooed in my ear as he hugged me tightly

"I-I c-can't let y-you go" I stuttered

Grayson came up behind me and took me into his arms "He needs to go Josey" he said quietly in my ear

I sobbed softly as I watched my brother get into the car.

The Uber drove off and so I ran to the middle of the road and watched the car drive down the straight road

"Jose" Grayson said as he took my hand in his, he walked me inside and locked the front door behind him

It was a long silence until I started crying softly, once again, like the little chicken I am.

"H-he's gone gray" I stuttered into his shoulder "i-it's just so fucked up" I cried

"This is all fucked up babygirl, but he's doing something good that'll benefit our country"

Grayson said kissing my forehead
