Chapter 24: An Explanation

~~Jerome's P.O.V~~
Shadow, transforming into her normal self, laid on the floor, asleep. Seto gingerly picked her up and carried her towards us, smiling kindly.

Sky had woken up and is currently being peppered with kisses by Ty. Elizabrine, who had transformed back into herself, half sighed in relief when she saw that everyone was alright, and half squealed when she saw Skylox kissing.

Happily pulling out her phone and started taking pictures of the cute couple, texting them to Shadow, whose phone started buzzing in her jeans pocket.

Jason, transforming back into his human form, wrapped his arms around Tyler and let out a shaky breath.

Mitch picked up Choco's injured figure and gently held him bridal style. Honestly, I was a little jealous.

"What made her turn into, ya know?" I asked. Everyone stopped and thought for a moment, before they all looked at each other, coming to the same conclusion.

"Normally it's anguish and rage, but there is a potion that can turn her. I'm afraid we may need to relocate. After all, she didn't seem very angry when she went to bed." Ty informed us.

"She can hide her emotions well, but we've seen her angry. You don't want to see Shadow angry," Brice said. Everyone else's eyes widened at the terrifying memory of angry Shadow.

"We can figure things out when Shadow wakes up. For now, let's let the poor gal get some much-needed rest," Elizabeth suggested.

Tyler nodded in agreement and Deadlox helped Adam off of the floor. While Brice wrapped his arm around Seto's waist, the sorcerer carefully carried the tired female to the healing room, and the rest of us, including Mitch and Choco, followed.

When we arrived, Kenny was already anxiously waiting next to an empty bed for Choco. With Brice and Ty's help, Seto placed Shadow on the patient mattress, as I helped Mitch with Choco's limp body.

My head shot up when I heard shifting and looking around, I saw that everyone's eyes were on Shadow, who was waking up.

Choco had woken up about a few minutes ago, only to be kissed hard on the lips by Kenny. Kenny had started crying when he saw the bird hybrid wake up, and his eyes are still red and puffy. Choco did a pretty great job consoling his lover after that though.

Shadow opened her eyes, blinking rapidly at the sudden light. Curious about her surroundings, she sat up and stared at us until her eyes rested on Choco.

Shadow kept her eyes on the boy's injuries, memories and flashbacks swelling up in her head like a sprained ankle.

Tears welled in her eyes, as she remembered attempting to kill us, and almost succeeding had it not been for Seto's brewing skills.

"I... I am so... I'm so sorry..."She whispered. It was nearly inaudible, but it was loud enough for us to hear.

Besides, even if it wasn't, we knew that it was what was said.

Ty turned himself into Enderlox, and quickly engulfed his sister in a hug, causing her to reach her breaking point.

Bursting into silent tears as she cried into her brother's chest. Elizabeth, looking like she might cry too, smiled sympathetically at her best friend, before turning to us.

"How would you guys like to rest for the rest of the day? I think you've had enough practice for today. I also think we all need a break right now," Elizabeth whispered.

I looked at the rest of the boys for confirmation before nodding.

It must be hard to see one of the strongest people in your life cry. I thought.

As soon as I thought that, Shadow Ellis pushed Ty away, and rushed out of the room, leaving all of us, especially Ty, in shock.

Lachlan ran out of the room after her, and Vikk followed. Soon enough, all six of us were chasing her to the roof of Headquarters.

We found her sitting on the roof, hugging her knees and looking up at the sky. It was a little past two o'clock past morning, so the sun still up.

The Aussie boy sighed in sympathy and sat down next to her, rubbing her back softly. Sitting on the other side of her, I wiped away her tears and pulled her close to my chest.

"I... I-" She started before being cut off.

"Couldn't control a side of you that you don't completely understand, and definitely can't cooperate with," Preston finished for her.

When she was about to protest, Rob, crouching in front of Shadow, put a hand on her head, and I softly passed her to him. Rob hugged the troubled girl, while he combed her purple-tipped hair with his fingers.

Mitch sat down beside me and smiled at Shadow, who smiled shyly back.

"Don't worry Shadow, everyone here has been through hormones," Vikk joked lightly. Shadow laughed and wiped away a few excess tears.

"Yeah! That's the spirit!" I exclaimed.

"Thanks, guys..." She laughed. "I'm sure you're all wondering how Ender Shadow came to be. Well, I guess I owe you an explanation."

"Yeah. We could use one," Vikk chuckled. Shadow smiled in amusement before continuing.

"Adam, Ty, Elizabeth, and I were born as transforming hybrids, but being transforming hybrids can be dangerous." Shadow paused before continuing

"Transforming hybrids are hybrids that have at least two different forms. The problem with this is that two different forms can mean having two different mindsets and personalities. It's rare, but it's possible. The other three transforming hybrids were lucky, but I was not. Ender Shadow was originally a pretty normal person, but, one day, there was a war between the Enders and the Nether Kingdom, and Ender Shadow watched her own parents get slaughtered. She wasn't the same from then on. I try not to let her out, but it happens sometimes. It just does. People say that over time, transforming hybrids can learn to control both of their mindsets and personalities and make them sane, but I haven't been able to do that," Shadow explained.

"...That's some pretty messed up stuff there," The Texan stated as the hybrid nodded her head in reply.

"It is. Every time someone brings it up, Flashes of my parents of Ty and I, came with their bodies drenched in their own blood. I feel uncomfortable as nightmares haunt me making it hard for me to get a good night's rest," she said as she pulled away from Robert.

"We're here for you and we won't let that happen again. Right guys?" Vikk asked as he looks at us with his brown colour orbs.

"Right!" We said in unison as Shadow gestured us to a group hug.

"I'm happy to be teaching you and being your friends!" Shadow exclaimed as we released from the group hug.

"Not to break the mood but Shadow you gotta rest girl," a familiar female voice spoke as we turned towards the speaker.

Elizabeth's head was poking from the entrance to the roof. Her toothy grin and her emerald eyes sparkled in the morning sun.

"Sure Mom I'll go to bed," she joked, leaving us on the roof alone.

"That was one heck day!" Preston exclaimed laying back.

"Ever since we have powers, our lives turned upside down," Vikk added looking at the morning sky.

"We are destined to save Earth from Herobrine," I said as the others nodded in agreement.

"Nevertheless, I'm glad that I met you, boys!" Robert gave us a smile, wrapping an arm around Preston causing him to blush.

"Poofless~" Mitch teased causing the couple to growl in response.

"Sometimes you can be a pain in the butt," he added resulting us to laugh as we stare into the morning sun...
