Ira's POV

"Rescue us? From what? Ourselves?" Marmo joked.
"Kind of, actually," Diamond said, to my surprise.
Bel burst out laughing. "You can't trick us into surrendering!"
"You should be thanking us," Glitter Spade said. "Mostly Glitter Diamond. She wanted to help you all."
"I still don't know what you're talking about," I snapped. "We're not in trouble here. You can leave now."
"No, we're going to save you from the darkness just like how we saved Regina and the King!" Heart insisted.
"No you won't," Bel replied, "unless you catch me!" He scampered out of the cage and across the ground.
"Oh no you don't!" Heart ran after the little guy, but he hid under the couch.
"No fair!" she said.
"I think we should take this 'fight' elsewhere," I suggested as I snapped my fingers.
We all appeared exactly where I wanted us to appear. A clearing with plenty of room to battle. And no place to hide for the rat.
"What? No fair!" Bel squealed as he continued to scamper away from Heart. I chuckled.
Diamond looked at me, and I looked at her.
Then she turned to her pals.
"I'll take care of Ira while you two go for Marmo. You go with Heart, Clover," she ordered to Spade, Regina, and Clover, who nodded and went.
Then she turned to me.
"Hey, bossypants. You just want to make us feel more miserable after our defeat, huh?" I whined.
"No, that's not why we came here," Diamond reassured me. "We just want to give you a chance to be good."
"I'm not gonna become some goody two shoes like you," I growled as I tried to blow her away with a gust of wind.
Surprisingly, she stood her ground. I stopped blowing after a while and looked at her.
"Honestly, I think you're going easy on me," Diamond grinned. "Why the sudden change of heart?"
That question shocked me a little. I stuttered, "I'm just a little out of practice!"

Maya's POV

Clover and I ran around the battlefield, chasing Bel.
"We just want to talk to you!" Clover hollered.
I started to whistle and call Bel in sing-song. He didn't seem to like that.
"Stop it! I'm no pet!" Bel squeaked as he leapt onto me and started to bite my arm.
I screamed and tried to shake him off, and he ended getting flung into the air. My bad!
Fortunately, Clover caught him and tried to prevent him from squirming out of her grasp.
"Have you ever wanted friends, Bel? People that care about you and people that you can truly count on?" she asked. She's good!
"I don't need friends! All I need is people who do what I want!" Bel yelled back, breaking free from Clover's little hand sandwich.
"Nice try, Clover! And sorry about throwing him like that." I scratched the back of my head apologetically. "Let's think of something else."

After trying to help them using words, they all just got tired of the "mushy talk" and stopped listening completely. I guess the last thing to do, according to our well thought-out plan, is to try to communicate through actions.

Ira's POV

"I'm sick and tired of your mushy talk!"
I threw several punches at Diamond, but she simply dodged, but I soon figured out the pattern and managed to deal a blow on her. She still got up though.
"Ira, I don't want to fight you!" she told me.
"Neither do I," I replied, then I realized what I said and cleared my throat. "What I meant was that it's no use. You already won! And now you want us to feel worse!"
"Not in that way! We want you to experience having friends who care, like Regina," she called. "You're just manipulated by dark energy!"
"I said I'm tired of your mushy talk!" I barked as I charged and blasted dark energy at her.
She tried to shield herself, but didn't stand her ground and collided with a wall.
After a tiny battle — with Diamond not dealing a single blow on me — she was surprisingly already pretty injured. I almost felt bad for her.
So I got ready to deal a final blow to give her a lesson.
