Maya's POV

"Girls! Over here!" I hollered to everyone.
Bel suddenly passed out! I think I did something wrong!
Spade and Regina came running first, struggling to support an unconscious Marmo.
"What happened to them?" Spade wondered.
"I think I overwhelmed Bel too much..." I wailed.
"You did great, Heart. I don't think it was your fault," Clover reassured me.
Diamond finally ran in, carrying Ira.
"Him too?" I cried. "And you're hurt, Rachel! Oh no, the plan didn't work!"
Diamond suddenly started to laugh.
"What?" I sniffed.
"They're alright, Maya! We did it!"
"But..."
"Once they wake up, they'll be not-so-Mercenary."
"How do you know for sure?" Ace asked.
"Dark energy is currently leaving their hearts," Diamond explained. "Once they wake up, there'll only be light energy."
"So they do have hearts after all," Regina thought out loud.
"Oh, so they're alright! Ah, that's good!" I felt relieved.

Ira's POV

I woke up to something throbbing in me.
But it wasn't pain.
I blinked and wondered out loud, "Why do I feel so tingly?"
"About time, pipsqueak," a familiar low voice joked.
"Bel! You're back to normal," I sat up. I wasn't angry at him for calling me pipsqueak. I actually felt relieved and non-grouchy for once.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"We have all been purified," Marmo answered. "It's actually not that bad."
"How are you all feeling?" Clover asked all of us.
"Better. How are you two?" Bel asked with a more fatherly feel in his voice.
"I'm good, you?" I looked at Bel and Marmo.
"I'm okay if you're okay," Marmo responded.
"Do you hear that?" Heart grinned excitedly. "The Mercenares aren't so Mercenary anymore!"
"The plan worked," Spade smiled warmly at the three of us for the first time.
"I never got the chance to apologize," Bel murmured.
"Me neither," Marmo agreed.
We all bowed our heads shamefully.
"We're sorry!"
"Hey now, no need to apologize!" Heart replied. "You were all just doing what you were told without knowing there was an alternative." She paused. "What I basically mean is that it's okay!"
We all sighed in relief.
"Thanks, everyone," I told the Glitter Force while looking at Diamond, who was beaming.
"... for not giving up on us."
