"god damn you brantley keith! i'm fine!"i argue as he slips on his brass knuckles, shooting dagger glares at me, which i match.

"carter mae, you almost passed out on the beach this mornin' i'm not letting you leave this bed."Brantley snaps back and i roll my eyes.

"fucking caveman."i mutter, and he raises an eyebrow, "Do you wanna go back over my knee?"

"well i don't think that'd be good for my health would it?"I mock and he growls, grabbing his keys.

"i'll be back later, we ain't done talkin"He growls once more, before leaving the room, and i flip him off, as the house door slams.

i turn on NESN, to find the soxs playing, so i leave it on with Benny batting.

this man is going to be the death of me.

"CARTER!"Caroline, Katie, and Lauren, jump on the bed, and i laugh, "Up and at em' doll! we're goin' to the beach!"

"if only dumbass down there would let me step a toe out of the bed."i laugh once more, as lauren smirks.

"He's agreed, as long as we get you that bathing suit he's been eyin' for you."Lauren explains, and my mouth is gaped open.

"Brantley Keith!"I stomp down the stairs, to find the laughing men, including Elise, My mama, Kolby, Mama Becky, and Jason, and Jason's face goes pale, "oh shit."

Mama gives jason the look, as elise cracks up, "B yous in troubles."

"i know sweetheart."he mutters, and luke chuckles, "Good Luck B."

he pats Brantley on the shoulder, before walking over to caroline, and i'm fuming.

"I am a grown woman for goodness sake! i'm able to do whatever the hell i want! and the reason what happened this morning because i didn't have any food or water yesterday nor this morning! you can't go all caveman on everything i do!"I snap, and elise smiles, "Very colorful language auntie car."

everyone cracks up, bu B and I, who i've got myself tangled into a square off with.

"i'm not getting that bathing suit."I growl, and brantley snaps back, growling at me.

"then you ain't goin' out."He sneers, and something inside of me snaps.

"Fuck You!"I snap before stomping off, considering i'm still in my bathing suit, and its cover up.

i grab katie, caroline, and lauren by the wrists, before leaving the house, still fuming.

"that man is fucking out of his damn mind!"I rage, and the girls chuckle.

"he cares about you Carter," Caroline chuckles, "even if it's for his own needs."

"but he really does love you, and he gets that your scared, he just wants to protect you."Katie adds on and i sigh, before sitting down on a bench by the house.

"i know he does... i just don't want to get beat up and down, verbally, being scared to do what i want."i mumble, and Lauren sits next to me rubbing my back.

"i know you are carter, but BG ain't like that, i've known him for a few years now, and he's made some idiot mistakes."i hear caroline growl, behind me, "fucking jana."

i laugh, as i realize that tears slip down my face and i nod, "I wanted to beat her up too, saw her on TV and disgusted me."

"but BG is nothin' like John, Carter, nowhere even close. Ms.Kim, Jason, and Elise love Brantley, the three of them hated John. and Ms.Becky adores you."Caroline continues and i nod, forcing a smile.

"this is the life i've wanted for awhile, and now that i have it, i don't know what to do,"I shrug, as my bare feet dig into the sand, "I haven't had happiness in years, i had fear, anger, and sadness living inside of me for so long i've got no clue what to do."

"You go day by day, god will guide you in any Direction he thinks is right."Katie joins us, sitting on the swing, and i lay my head on Caroline's shoulder, as the three of us look at the ocean water.

"i just go day by day, hour by hour, and Minute and Minute."
