Then came the awaited day of the prom.

It was the point of 'no-turning-back' for Marvey, who was sitting quietly in the car's backseat, with a flower bouquet next to him.

I am not going to prolong my agony anymore. I want to stop covering myself.

He glanced at the bouquet and then pressed a button from his phone. Its wallpaper, a picture collage of him and Blythe making funny faces was flashing on the screen.

I love Blythe so much. Tonight, I want her to know how much she means to me.

Soon, the car made its complete stop in front of Gonzales' house. He promptly alighted, bringing the bouquet with him. He then took a deep breath as he passed through the gate.

Here goes nothing...

On the other hand, Blythe was sitting quietly by her lit-up dresser. Already dressed up, her long brown hair cascaded down into curls.

She was scowling at the wall clock. "Those girls are ten minutes late! What's taking them so long?"

Her eyes caught a glimpse of the tiara she bought days ago but decided not to wear it at the last minute.

I don't give a damn about this Prom Queen thing... She stared at her reflection. Her make-up complemented well with her dress.

My goal for tonight is to tell Marvey how I feel for him. I don't care how I will express it. Now that I know the truth, I can surely do this!

"Your prom escort is here, my dear." Her mother, Alice, walked into her room, snapping Blythe out of her train of thought.

"Escort?"

As puzzled as she was, she slowly stood up from her seat; quickly running her hands over her midnight blue strapless gown to make sure it wasn't crumpled.

Here goes nothing...

From the top of the staircase, her eyes widened at the sight of Marvey, who was anxiously looking in another direction.

"Marvey! What are you doing here?"

He turned to her and smiled. "Oh, hello, Blythe! Surprise?"

"Well, that's a pleasant one." She giggled. "The girls are supposed to pick me up, but it looks like they set this up for us."

"Not really," Marvey said confidently. "I just tipped them that I'll do the honors instead. I hope you don't mind."

"No biggie. I'm perfectly cool with that."

As she gracefully descended the stairs, Marvey was simply mesmerized by her beauty and grace. By the time she reached him, he was almost breathless.

"You're so beautiful today, Blythe." He complimented in a husky voice.

"And you also look dashing today, Marvey. I like it!" Blythe said dreamily, her eyes sparkling in awe.

"You think so?" Marvey grinned. He was wearing a black tuxedo, his shirt in crimson red. A white handkerchief was neatly folded and placed in his coat's breast pocket. His hair was styled into fly-away strands.

"Hey! Do you think I'm joking?" Blythe pouted at Marvey, lightly pinching his cheeks, then smiled sweetly. "You know I don't."

"Okay, okay. I believe you." Marvey chuckled, then he finally handed the bouquet to her. "Here you go; beautiful flowers for a beautiful girl like you."

"Wow! They look lovely. Thank you so much!" Blythe was flushed at his compliment, but also in awe of the bouquet.

There was dead air for a moment until they decided to speak up.
