Two figures stood in front of a double door, and one had a more determined expression than the others. "Are you sure you want to do this?" The figure clad in white outdoor dress spoke, her tone filled with hesitation. "Do not worry, we are only here to speak, nothing else." The figure clad in dark purple spoke in a more confident and excited manner, as she knocked on the door a couple of times. Soon after, a girl opened the door, and the two recognize her as their friend.
"Good afternoon Melody." Olivia bowed slightly, a wide smile still on her face. "We are looking for your brother. Do you know where he is?" Melody's small smile didn't disappear, but her eyes were blank, and it was as if she wasn't looking at her and Alice at all. Olivia briefly glanced towards Alice, her expression turned into one of worry as well, and rested one hand on his friend's shoulder. "Melody, is something wrong? You look haggard." Melody's eyes regained their focus, albeit a little, and put a hand on top of Olivia's. "I am alright, Olivia. Thank you for worrying." She then stepped back, and gestured her friends to come in. The two silently went inside the mansion before Melody closed the door.
Melody guides the two to her room, and sit them down. Melody walked towards the door, and turned her head to her friends. "I will make us some tea. Please wait a moment." Melody went out of the door, closing it behind her. The two, now in Melody's room, looked at each other with a worried expression. "Do you think something happened to her?" Alice sighed through her nose and nodded her head slightly. "I suppose so... but I do not know what happened." Olivia hummed shortly, and her head raises ever so slightly, as if she just had a revelation. "I have a guess, but I do not know whether it is true or not." Alice gave her a sharp nod and a small smile. "Then we shall ask her when she returns..."
Melody came back soon after, a tray in hand. She deftly put the cups in front of her friends and poured them tea. Melody sat in one of the chairs, and smiled to the two. "Please, drink." The two nodded with a smile, and sipped on their tea. To their surprises, the tea was as good as the ones their maid made for them. A small sigh escaped Olivia's lips, and she complimented Melody as she gazed at the tea inside of her cup. "This is delicious!" Melody smiled, and nodded deeply.
The two slowly drank their tea, but Melody quickly drank hers. It was almost as if she was powering through them. Alice and Olivia looked at each other, before resting their hands on top of Melody's. "Melody, what happened? You seemed really down today." Melody put her cup, and smiled. "Do I?" Melody laughed weakly, and looked at her feet.
Some times passed, and Melody finally let out a sigh. She then looked at her two friends, and spoke. "You see... Father and mother... they... they finally find out who murdered my real parents." Melody's voice trembled as the words stumbled out of her mouth. Alice and Olivia looked at one another, their eyebrows furrowed deeply. Olivia then looked at Melody, her body slightly leaning towards her. "Sir Scorpion and madame Lizbeth was not your real parents?" Melody weakly shook her head. "They kindly adopted me when Trace brought me home in the middle of a squall, where he found me unconscious in the arms of my real mother." Alice and Olivia had the same thought, and hugged Melody, calming her down.
Melody closed her eyes, thinking to herself that she has truly been blessed to have such wonderful friends, and put a hand on top of theirs. "Thank you, both of you. I feel so much better already." The two smiled to each other, and went back to their chairs. "Still..." Olivia spoke as she brought her cup of tea to her mouth. "Even after all this time, we never heard anything." Alice nodded in agreement. "Indeed. It is all very strange." Melody bit her lower lips, and ran her pointer finger on her cup's lip. "Because... my parents' murderer was from the Venomblood family... And I was from the Silmerios family." Surprised gasp escaped Alice's and Olivia's mouth. They both recognized the name, and immediately understood the meaning of it all.
