The roar kept on getting louder and louder, until Trace can finally see the beast's outline. Slowly, but surely, the beast is increasing in size. It was not something Trace worry about, but the fact that the giant beast kept on growing until it was finally half the height of the city's wall made him gulp.
"That is... not good."
Ray, the one who is famed for his headfirst approach in a battle, pointed at the beast as a nervous smile spreads across his face. Croff sighed as she crossed her arms.
"If this is the way it is going to be..."
Croff conjured up water beside her, and it slowly took the form of a large knight. She froze the water after she is satisfied with it, and it began to move. The knight knelt down as he put his hand on the ground. Croff jumped on to the knight's hand, and it brought her to its shoulder. Looking down to Trace, Croff began to spoke louder, for she is quite far from the ground.
"Please try to summon the other three! Even if their power will be decreased, we need more people to fight with us!"
Trace nodded as he pulled out three summoning papers from his waist bag. Ars conjured up her weapon and stood in front of me. Turning her head slightly toward me, she gave me a smile and a nod.
"Master, right now we need accuracy more than anything, so I have to ask you to take your time in summoning them. Do not worry. This time, I will properly protect you."
Trace returned Ars' smile, before closing his eyes. Magical energy started to swirl around him, and it slowly grew bigger and denser. Noticing the energy coming from him, the beast lets out another roar, as it slowly made its way toward Trace. Ray snorted as he slammed his fists together.
"So it's big, but really slow, huh?"
Kai shook her head as she sighed.
"Although that does make it easier for us to stop its advance, by no means it makes it easy for us to defeat it. We should hurry."
With an energetic nod, Kai and Ray dashed toward the large beast. Croff turned to Ars and gave her a nod.
"We should follow them."
The two began their advance toward the beast, following Kai and Ray. The moment they arrived, they already saw Kai and Ray attacking the beast. Many burn marks and slash wounds can be found on the beast's body.
"Reckless as always..."
Croff sighed as she stood up from her perch. The knight's head began to split to the side, revealing the hollow area inside. It was big enough to let one person move freely, but not enough for more. Croff jumped into the hollow area, and the knight's head began to close. The knight's eyes began to emit a blue light. Its movement changed, becoming more agile.
"Now then... it has been a while since I fought inside one of my Combat Puppet..."
Croff's voice echoed from inside the knight as it started to spin both of its shoulders as if to limber up its body. The knight turned its head toward Ars and gave her another nod.
"Then we shall fight as well."
Ars nodded, and the two began attacking the beast. The beast roared as it felt itself being threatened by the four. Smaller version of it began to sprout from its back, and began attacking the four.
"Ars, Kai, can I trust you to hold them back?"
Croff, still inside her Combat Puppet, swung down her ice halberd, mowing down more than ten of the smaller beast. Ars nodded as she jumped down from the larger beast's back. Kai followed suit after her saucer came back to her.
