Namjoon woke up with a feeling of unease that morning. He thinks of the previous day and smiles to himself. All of a sudden, he heard the sound of a cannon.

You awoke to the sound of cannons and shouts. You leave your room in search of the other princes. You feel a hand on your shoulder. You hear Jin's voice, "Y/N, you have to flee." You give him a look, "I can't. What about you? What about Namjoon?" You add, "I can't leave you here!" Jin sharply replies, "You have no choice. If you don't leave, you'll die for nothing." You were reluctant until you hear, "He's right, jagiya." You turn and ask, "Are you going to be okay?" The sound of gunshots interrupted Namjoon's answer. Namjoon said, "I'm sorry, I have to go. It is my duty as prince of this kingdom." You grab his sleeve, "Namjoon, be careful." You watch him and he presses you against a column. He presses his lips softly onto your own. He cups your cheeks as he continues to kiss you. Namjoon pulls away and rests his forehead on yours. He says, "I'm not going to lose." He places his hand on your cheek, "It's my duty to defend not only the citizens but I have to protect my princess too." He kisses your forehead, "I'll come back for you, my dove. I promise." You watch him join his brothers, leaving you to find the king and queen.

Queen Naria saw you and quickly motions you to follow her. You let out a sigh of relief when you saw Lisa and your parents. You run over to Lisa, tears staining her dress. Lisa strokes your hair, "Shhh, it's okay baby sister. Everything will be okay." Queen Naria spoke up, "We found your family fleeing their home moments ago. We brought them here for their own safety." You ask with a sniff, "Is Namjoon going to be okay?" Queen Naria went silent.

Namjoon and his brothers were preparing for battle. The enemy nation had attacked Cortalia previously but this was their biggest attack to date. Namjoon had a sword in his hilt. He also had a bow on his back along with his quiver. Jin said to the men in front, "Men! This will be a risky counterattack! Watch yourself and be prepared. Provide backup if necessary." The men yell, "Sir yes sir!" Taehyung said, "Move out men!" That was when the attack began.

Queen Naria and your mother look at you in worry. All you could think of was Namjoon. It's my duty to defend not only the citizens but I have to protect my princess too. Those words echo inside of your head. "Y/N." It was King Hyeon who spoke up. He crouched in front of you and spoke gently, "Don't make that face, my dear. Think of Namjoon. My son would want you to be strong for him. He wants to protect you as much as he wants to protect the people of this land. He needs your mental support. Trust in my son."

"Namjoon!" Namjoon couldn't hear his older brother's cries. He lay unconscious on the stretcher, his body covered in scars and wounds. Both Taehyung and Jin stare at their brother. Jin calls out, "My brother needs medical attention!"

When you emerge from the bunker, you see men in military uniform carry a stretcher. Your heart broke when you saw who it was. You cry out, "No! Namjoon!" Lisa stops you, "Y/N....I know you want to help but....you have to let the medical staff do their job." You fell to your knees and wept.

Namjoon had felt pain before. The searing sensation of a wound was something he had felt previously. However, this pain was different. This pain signalled the failure to pay attention to his surroundings. All he could think of was you. "Your Highness!" Namjoon lets out a pained groan. Namjoon tried to sit up but winces when he tried to do so. Jin was relieved, "Thank Artemia! You're okay!" Taehyung was teary-eyed, "Hyung...I was so scared." "Where is he?" Jin hears your voice and Taehyung tries to hold you back. You ask, "Why? Why can't I see him?" Namjoon spoke in a strained tone, "Tae....let me......let me see my princess." Jin and Taehyung leave the hospital wing. Tears well up in your eyes and you say, "Thank Artemis! I was so scared that I would lose you..." You kiss Namjoon's forehead and add, "I stayed strong for you. I tried my best to believe that you'd be okay." Namjoon weakly places his hand on your cheek. You place your hand over his, showing that you were there for him. "Lady Y/N, well this is quite unexpected." Namjoon said, "Commander Reiver." The commander asked, "How are you faring, your highness?" The commander bows to you, "Pleasure to meet you, Lady Y/N. I thank you for caring for his highness." You quickly say, "Oh no...I—" "He's right." It was Hoseok's voice that surprised you. You said, "Hobi..." Commander Reiver bows and takes his leave. Hoseok enters the hospital wing and remarks, "Hey cousin. Hey Y/N." Hoseok asked, "How are you feeling?" Namjoon replies sarcastically, "Peachy...." Namjoon finally said, "Y/N, could I be alone for a little while?" You nod and gently kiss his cheek.
