CHAPTER 13
“THE FINALE”- We should not let our fears hold us back from pursuing our hopes. (John F. Kennedy.) -
Approximately 5 hours earlier...
Outside the borderline of the town and the real world.“Hey, what's going on?” Maka asked as she could no longer wait for them.
It has been an hour since they started and still no progress.
“We can no longer connect to Amu's phone.” Kaoru answered.
“And why is that?” Maka crossed her arms and furrowed.
“Cannot connect because of unstable signal or something's blocking it from inside. It must be the enemy.” L said while tapping nonstop on his laptop.
“Then give up to Amu. Our priority is to break through the barrier and go inside.”
“Eh?” L stopped from tapping and looked at Maka confusedly. He felt a sudden bad feeling from what she just said. “That will take great amount of energy. And what if we fail to find someone?”
Maka sighed and looked at him sharply. “Arent you pros? You said that you can do it.”
“Ngh. You're being unreasonable again. Maka, no matter what you say, its impossible with our level of experience and knowledge. And this is all the work of a demon. We're up against a demon here!” Ikoma lost it.
Ikoma and Maka stared at each others for a moment until Maka decided to just give up.
Maka sighed again. “So, what are we going to do now?” She sat on a big stone and waited for them to decide.
“Let's just connect with anyone inside the town who's near the barrier and tell them what to do. Since we can't do anything from here.” Oga said after a while of silence.
Shirou nodded. “So we're abandoning the idea of breaking the barrier?”
“Yes.” Oga answered.
“Okey I'll do that.” Ikoma agreed. He went back to his position earlier and sat on a circle with all sorts of candles around it. He begun concentrating or meditate and closed his eyes.
“Pfft. This is like some kind of black magic, don't you think?” Yashiro snorted.
“Well, this mission is kinda different from what we've done before.” Shirou said.
“If we can't connect to someone inside the town and tell them what to do, they'll die. But I think maybe they'll probably be able to pull it off.” Dazai said.
Kaoru also sat on a rock. “Hmm...but, even if they know how to do it, if they're against a powerful monster....they will still die.”
“We came here in a hurry to prevent that from happening.” Maka muttered. Her eyes showed impatience.
Dazai sighed and shrugged his shoulders.
Inside the town, 5 minutes earlier...
3 out of 4 of the students from the “going party” earlier arrived at the storage house one after the other.“Gowther, Bel.” Usui said and smiled. “We did it guys.”
“Ushishi...just as planned. Let's hurry up and get inside. Let's not waste Karma's effort.” Bel kicked the door open and looked around inside. “So dusty, blugh!!”
“So, how do we kill that demon? Did they tell you anything?” Usui asked as they proceeded inside.
It was dark and there were lots of unnecessary boxes and other things inside. The interior of the storage house isnt that important either. Must be just made it ordinary so that the people of the outside world won't notice something strange within in.
