I sighed heavily as I walked to school alone. Light didn’t walk with me again. What the hell was wrong with him? I mean, if he didn’t want to walk with me, he could’ve just told me instead of leave me hanging! I sighed again as I reached my school. When I saw him, he was going to get it!

I walked into my classroom, looking for Light. Once I saw him in his seat, I glared, making my way over to him. I slammed my hand on his desk, making him look up at me. “Emily?” He asked in curiosity.

“Where the hell where you yesterday?” I asked, glaring harder. “I was waiting for you for like fifteen minutes and you didn’t show up! You couldn’t even answer my calls or texts! And you left me again this morning! You owe me an explanation, Yagami!” I growled.

By now, all the students in the classroom looked at the scene unfold between Light and I. Light looked shocked a bit before giving me a small smile. “I’m very sorry, Emily. I was being very inconsiderate.” He said, but suddenly, he place a hand on top of mine, making my eyes wide and my heart beat faster. “If I can’t walk with you, I will let you know from now on and I will be sure to answer your calls and/or texts. Please accept my apology and let me walk you home today, to make it up to you.” For some reason, the way he said his last sentence made my stomach do back flips. What was this feeling I was getting? It was just Light.

I pulled my hand away, trying to hide my blush. “Whatever. Just don’t let it happen again. I’ll meet you after school.” I grumbled before taking my seat. What the hell was going on with me?

Ever since I practically yelled at Light in class, he had been keeping his word. For the last couple of days he had been walking me home, and when I say walking me home, I mean literally walking me to the front door of my home. Usually we would part ways at one intersection and I would walk the three blocks by myself. But since I yelled at him, he offered to walk me home. I thought it was really sweet of him. I guess he just really wanted to make up for what he did.

Light and I were currently walking home, talking about whatever came to our head. When I thought about something… Kira… Lately there had been a massive amount of killings, but not just any killings; killings of criminals. When I first heard about Kira, my heart wouldn’t stop beating rapidly. The day with Aki Hara… he had died of a heart attack, just like Kira’s victims. Had Kira saved me that night? Was Kira watching me?

“Are you okay, Emily? You seem like you have something on your mind.” Light asked, raising an eyebrow.

I debated whether to tell Light or not. What if he didn’t agree with me? What if he thought I was some psycho? I need to find a safe thing to say without giving too much. “Light, what do you think about Kira?” I asked, deciding that it was the best thing to say.

“Kira?” He repeated. “Hm, well, I think he is nothing but a cold blooded killer. What he is doing his wrong! He needs to be stopped!”

My heart dropped for a second, making me frown before quickly covering it up. “I see.” I mumbled. Now I knew I couldn’t tell Light anything yet. “I was just curious.”

He gave me a look for a second before asking, “Well, what do you think about Kira?”

“Well…” I started. “I have no real opinion of Kira yet. That’s why I asked you. Maybe it could help me figure out an opinion for him.” I lied, smiling slightly.
