Lunch Time Trouble

Sonic's POV

I got up from my chair and made my way to the door front. I waved goodbye to Knuckles, Charmy, Espio, and Vector. I was meeting so many kids on my first day and everyone so far was really nice. 

Walked down the hall and other kids started to stare. Boys were giving me a weird look and the girls were whispering about me. I just kept walking with my head low trying to dodge their stares. It didn't feel right to have so many eyes on me...

As I was walking through the halls I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around only to be pushed against a locker. Soon I saw a hedgehog that looked a little like me. His arms were on either side of my head. If I tried to move I'd bump right into him.

The hedgehog had green fur and azure blue eyes. There was a pair of red glasses resting on his forehead and had a nasty scar on his chest. He was wearing a black leather black jacket with chains hanging from the sides. His black jeans reached all the way to his green and black shoes.

"Hey, Baby Blue... Who might you be?" A green hedgehog asked as he hovered over me.

I couldn't tell him my name is as a response even if I wanted to. All I did was look down at the ground trying not to make eye contact. I really didn't like feeling pinned down but I didn't want to start a fight.

The green hedgehog pulled me in and wrapped an arm around my waist. Our faces were incredibly close and was making me really uncomfortable. I tried to scootch away slowly but nothing worked... He just kept holding me tighter and tighter.

"Let the new kid go Scourge," A voice said and the green hedgehog immediately let me go and backed away.

I turned around to see Shadow and what looked like a few of his friends. Rouge was standing right behind him taking a peek a Scourge. To Shadow's left was another hedgehog that looked a lot like Shadow. To his other side was a red armadillo.

"Come on Sonic lets get to lunch," Shadow told me and I nodded and walked towards him.

I heard Scourge scoff behind me and walk away. I was walking right next to Shadow and actually felt safe. Shadow looked like a really scary guy but when I was close to him I actually felt secure.

"Stay away from Scourge alright Sonic? I don't want you getting hurt," Shadow asked me never making eye contact with me when he spoke.

All I could do was a nod and give him a warm smile. I looked over at Shadow's friends that were walking with us. I felt weird being protected by other people. Protecting others used to by my job.

"I have to go somewhere with my friends... Rouge will show you where the Cafeteria is alright?" Shadow asked as he stopped in the middle of the hall.

I nodded again and watched as Shadow and his other to friends walked away. I felt the safe and warm feeling disappear as Shadow walked out of view. I turned to Rouge and nodded to her.

"Well come on Sonic!" She said and grabbed my hand and lead the way.

We kept walking down the hall and soon the glass doors were visible. When we pushed out the door we were outside. I looked like a fair as there were food stands lined up on the sidewalks and other people walking everywhere.

I gave Rouge a confused look and stopped her before we went down the steps. Rouge saw my confused face and giggled. She then pointed to a poster on the front door.

"The cafeteria is broken and the Principle decided to move everything outside! It says it right there," Rouge told me and held my hand as we walked down the stairs not even letting me read the poster.

I walked past the different food carts with Rouge. I didn't feel hungry so I didn't get anything. I just waited as Rouge bought her food and she pulled me over to a tree to sit underneath.

"Hey give it back!!!" I heard someone yell and I couldn't help but look.

The was a Flying Squirrel with goggles and a blue bandanna wrapped around his neck. He had a plain shirt on with a pair of blue shorts. He was trying to reach for a light blue backpack being thrown around by two larger kids.

"No way kid!" One of them said with an evil grin.

"Heads up dude," The other said as he threw the backpack over the squirrel's head and landed in others arms.

One of them was a  hedgehog and was completely golden. He was slightly glowing and had swirling red eyes. His child looked unkept and he had a navy blue hoodie on. His pants were badly ripped and reach all the way to his red and white shoes.

The other was a black and white Jackle. He had a bad scar over his right eye. He was also wearing a navy blue hoodie and black pants. His grey boots were just plain and covered his ankles slightly. 

"Sonic... Those are the school bullies. Just don't stare and they won't cause you any trouble," Rouge told me and didn't even look over at the little kid getting bullied.

I watched as no one helped the yellow squirrel. I couldn't take all his yelling anymore. The laughing coming from the two hedgehogs were too unbearable and sickening. I soon stood up and was about to go help the little boy but was caught by the hand.

"Sonic what are you doing?" Rouge asked me as I stood up.

I nodded over to the three of the boys and she shook her head. She didn't want me to go help that little boy. I looked over the bullies then back at Rouge. I pulled my hand away and made my way to the three boys.

I grabbed the boys backpack when it was midair and held it close to me. I then gave the squirrel a smile and handed him the light blue backpack. I slowly took it and smiled back and ran off and away from the trouble.

"Hey, kid! That was our fun you just ruined!" The gold hedgehog said as he cracked his knuckles and walked towards me.

I backed away not wanting any trouble. The Jackel was also walking towards me with his fists. I didn't regret helping that by but I did regret getting in this but mess.

It was true that I gave up fighting. I didn't want to hurt anything or anyone anymore. I couldn't control my strength before and I can't control it now. I didn't want to send anyone to the hospital.

"Should we teach him a lesson Fleetway?" The Jackle asked the golden hedgehog.

"Yes, we should Infinite... Yes we should," Fleetway said and they closed in on me.

Fleetway tried to punch me but I quickly dodged. He kept going punch after punch but kept missing. Soon the ground between us ran out and was backed up into a brick wall. Fleetway smirked knowing I had nowhere to go.

I was about to get punched in the face and used my hand to try and stop the impact. I felt something stop my hand and I slowly opened my eyes. I had caught Fleetway's hand in mine.

I couldn't help but smirk when I saw the worried look on his face. I threw his fist away from my face and gave him a sharp kick to the groin. He fell to his knees in pain as I hoped over him and ran away.

I then ran right into Infinite. He didn't look happy at all. He also had his fists out was about to throw a heavy punch to the head but I ducked out of the way. I swept him off his feet and he soon fell to the ground. 

I got up only to be hit in the back on the head. I felt dizzy and could barely keep my balance. Soon both of the boys were up and standing. Fleetway was shaking due to the pain and Infinite was holding his right arm.

They both came at me at the same time running full speed. I was able to jump over both of them. I pushed off their backs to send myself higher in the air. I turned around to see them both face first in the ground.

I looked around to see everyone staring at me... Even Rouge and my friends. My eyes went wide and I ran into the school as fast as I could. I stopped when I got to the gym and hid under the bleachers.

'Why did things have to be this way?' I asked myself as I curled up into a ball.
