Chapter 2: New Waters

MEGANS POV

We went under and headed for shore. We reached shore and got up onto land by army crawling. Dragging a tail with you wasnt the easiest thing in the world. Me and Jess eventually hid behind some rocks and waited to dry off. When we did, our tails dissapeared and we had our legs again- we were fully clothed and had our backpacks too. Dont ask how. Its just how it works.

"This is so weird. People on the island?" I said. "Yeah. This place is dangerous. Surrounded by sharks and poisionus snakes on the island itself." I nod and we start to walk up to the forest part of the island. "How do we know where they went?" I ask. "I dont know. Look for trails or something i guess. Maybe smoke from a camp fire?" I start looking up at the sky, and sure enough, I saw smoke. I pointed, "Lets go check it out over there." Jess looked and said, "They are so colse to the pond. Hope they didnt bring swimsuits." "Yeah." I say and we start walking twoards the smoke. On our way there we saw footprints. Theses people must be idiots.

We have been walking for a good 20 minutes when we hear voices. "Shh." I say and raise a finger to my lips. She nods and we walk quietly towards the voices. We came out to a little clearing and saw 4 tents. Me and Jess quickly ducked behind some rocks as we saw a boy come out of the tent and say "Hey, i heard something you guys." He had ice blue eyes and a little blonde streak in his quiff. I look at jess and she shrugs. 

A boy with dirty blonde hair and brown eyes comes out of another tent. "You know there are animals in a forest." The kid with blue eyes rolls his eyes. Another kid with Brown hair and a lazy eye come out of a tent "Well now that were all up." The kid with blonde hair says "Nash heard something." Oh his name was Nash. "Shut up Matt." That ones name was Matt. what was the other guys name? I went to stand up a little when I stepped on a stick. Shit. All of there heads snapped to the direction that me and Jess were in. "Shawn, go take a look." Shawn started walking in the direction of me and Jess. Jess turned invisable while i stood up so Shawn could see me. "Hi." I awkwardly said while i had 3 guys staring at me. Nash stood up "Who are you and what are you doing here." He coldly said.

I gulped. "U-um I was here with my friend," And i tugged on Jessicas arm and she became visable again. She stood up "And we got lost and heard voices and we were to scared to ask you for directions to the Beach." I said. Nashs face softened. "Oh okay. Well, I'm Nash." He said and smiled. "And thats Matt," Matt made a weird dino noise and i laughed. "And thats Shawn." He said I smiled and said "Im Megan and this is Jess." Jess smiled and waved.

Before anyone else could say anything ANOTHER guy popped out of the 4th tent. "Who are these people?" He asked. He was wearing a bandana and had brown eyes. Nash spoke up, "These people are Jess and Megan. They got lost on the island." They boy nods, "Im Taylor." Nice to meet you Taylor." I say and smile. Before i could say anything Jess said, "So what are you guys doing here?" "Were camping." Said Taylor. "On an island with poisonous snakes? you guys are smart." I elbowed her and she shook it off. "So could you show us the direction of the beach?" "Are you in a rush to get home?" Shawn asks. "No not really." Jessica says. "Well wanna stay and hang out for a little bit." We nod and head over towards the campfire.
