The next night, Kimi and Raven are helping to prepare their nightly breakfast.

(Author's note: Keep in mind that they are vampires, and Mavis isn't)

Mavis arrives downstairs, thinking of helping them both. He stops to ask Kimi, "Hey..need any help with that?"

Kimi quickly look up and says, "Oh, yes! We do. Uh.. I actually need a few leaves to make this meal fancy-looking."

"Alright, where can I find enough leaves?" Mavis asked.

"In the graveyard! It is filled with leaves. But don't get the orange leaves, please." Kimi said with a smile.

Mavis shivered all over. He could barely speak. "The..the grave..yard? Are you sure there isn't anyplace else?"

Kimi looked confused. "Of course not, I'm positively sure its in there."

"Oh, okay..I'm on my way." Mavis said.

As Mavis makes his way to the graveyard, he hears his mother kind of howling his name.

         Maaavviiss....

But he just ignored it and pushed his fears away. He noticed the leaves, and picked up about 14 leaves of every colour, except orange. As he made his way back home, he quickly looks back to make sure she isn't near. He takes a deep breath, and exhales to be relieved she isn't.

As he turns his head back, his dead mother's face is real close to him. Mavis let's out a scream and drops everything from his hands. He covers his face with his arm and trembles is fear. He heard nothing. Mavis takes away his arm from his face and find that she isn't there.

Was...was that my imagination? Mavis thought to himself.

He didn't think much of it anymore, but is still pretty terrified. He collects the leaves and heads back home.

Mavis sets all the leaves he collected on the dining room table. Kimi looks at the leaves closely, and says, "Thank you! That would be all."

Mavis nodded his head, and exits the room, but is still thinking about the graveyard.

He went up to his room and thought about his dead mother, how she had come back to life. To kill him.

But what she doesn't know is that Mavis is immortal. He plans to go back to the graveyard the next night, to figure out why she wants to murder him.

Before he leaves, Mavis tells Alice that he is going to visit the graveyard again.

"Mavis, no!" Alice cries. "You can't go back there again, she will kill you, it's safer to stay here."

"But I want to know why she does this to me, I don't want it to stay a mystery." He explains.

     "Oh....I understand." Alice sighs.

Mavis was about to head out the large double doors, when Alice got a hold of his shoulder. He looks back.

    "Please...please be safe." She says.

He put his hand on hers. "I will, mother." He says, with a smile.

He puts on his grey hood and heads out.

Mavis can see his mother's grave and starts walking towards it. When he reaches it, he stomps on it.

"Hey!" he yells. "Wake up you a$$hole!"

As the ground trembles, he can hear her whisper his name again. But this time, he isn't afraid.

His mother rises up from the ground, and whispers, "I've been expecting you."

"Yeah?" Mavis says. "Well I've been waiting to see you too."

He pulls out his machete from his jacket and slices off her arm. She cries in pain. Mavis pushes her to the ground and asked, "Why do you want to kill me, huh?"

Her eyes turned white and yelled,

"THOU SHALL SUFFER THE WAY I DID!!"

She snatched the machete out his hands and pulled herself up. She had a large smile splattered across her face.

"Any last words before I slice your head off?" she asked.

Mavis looked around and tried to find something to kill her with. He saw a very large tree branch nearby. Mavis quickly ran to it and picked it up. He swung it at her head, blood and rotten brains exploded everywhere. She drops the machete, and falls onto her knees, and falls flat on her belly.

Mavis is speechless. But he is glad she is gone. He takes one last look of her tombstone. It reads:

   Here lies Rainabelle Bloodster.

Born-October 16 1971

Died-August 18 2011

"I always hated my little boy"

Mavis knew she hated him, but he didn't care. He made his way back home, but something got ahold of his leg. He couldn't move. He fell to the ground and looked down, a vine was on his leg. Mavis was going to take is off but it grabbed his wrist. Then his other arm. He realized what is happening. The vines started pulling him into the ground, and before he could yell for help, it covered is mouth and continued pulling him in.

His right arm got free and he tried to drag himself away from it. But he failed. Mavis was now completely underground.

Why did the vines take him there?
