Mavis awoke, finally. He found himself inside a burrow. A huge burrow. It was shaped like a cylinder, with long hallways in each side. He gets curious, and starts walking to one side. He suddenly find a dirt wall.

    Dead end. He thought.

So he starts walking the opposite direction. He sees nothing but dirt. Mavis continues walking, and suddenly thinks, "Wait a sec..this is just dirt, I can just climb up!"

He reached out his hand and pushed the dirt away from the "ceiling". When he made enough room, he jumped up and held onto the dirt. About 15 minutes later, Mavis continues to climb, and he suddenly hears the walls tremble and child laughter.

Perhaps they are chasing after something? He thought.

As he made his to the surface, he saw the look on the children's faces. Mavis was confused and thought, These children don't have any horns. Or fangs..not even wings...Huh?

Then it hit him, these are human children. Mavis had never seen a human before, besides his parents. A little girl starts to cry, she had seen Mavis' eyes, which are thin like a cat's eye during the day. Next, a boy, about 4 years of age, starts to also tear up, for he has seen Mavis' thin body, because no guy is ever that thin. Parents begin to hear the screams of their child, and look over at Mavis.

One big guy looks at him straight in the eyes, and yells, "You better leave this town, or else you demon!"

A young woman smacks Mavis upside the head with her purse and yells, "Go back to He//!"

Mavis is terrified be near to so many humans. He pushes his way through and runs away from them, but is now being chased by an angry mob. As he runs into the woods, Mavis trips over a vine. The vine grabs a hold of his ankles and quickly pulls him underground once again. The angry mob looked around confused with their children, and asked each other questions.

"Geez, again!?" Mavis complained. He tried to escape the same way he did last time, but the dirt wouldn't move. He looked to his left. Nothing. Now to his right. Mavis saw a girl. About 15 years old.

"Hey!" Mavis yelled to her. "Hey, are you okay?"

The girl looked behind her. She had long purple hair, and bright blue eyes. She was wearing a black and gothic purple dress with a white lace over the waistline.

She saw Mavis. She smiled, and waved. "Hi, are you trapped too?" she asked.

Mavis walked over to her, and instead of answering her question, he asked, "May I know your name?"

She blushed and looked down with a smile. "It's Genevieve."

Mavis stared at her, with a little half smile. "I'm Mavis...Mavis Bloodster." He said.

Genevieve looked up into his bloody red eyes, and shook her head. "Sorry, we have to focus on getting out of here." She said.

Mavis looked away from her, and slowly rubbed his neck. "Oh..right. Sorry." He said.

Suddenly, the ground started to rumble. Mavis looked behind him, and saw a pair of glowing red eyes. Genevieve gasped. She held Mavis' hand and ran.

"What's wrong? Who is that guy?" Mavis asked, confused.

"He is my father. He keeps me in here to be 'safe', I guess. But he is a killing machine!" Genevieve answered.

  "What!? Why am  here, then?"

"I brought you in here, I just though you would--"

Out of nowhere, an arrow stabbed into Mavis' chest, going right through his body. They stopped running, Genevieve gasped and covered her mouth. Mavis coughed up blood and put his hand over his bloody chest. He fell to the ground, and tried to speak.

"Genevieve..." He started. " There is..no way I...I can die."

Genevieve started to cry. "How is that possible?"

Mavis looked up at her, and smiled. "I am immortal."

Genevieve's father walked up towards Mavis. He looked like Death himself.

"Don't you hurt him, dad!!" Genevieve yelled. "I love him!"

Mavis looked up at her. "Really?"

She smiled. Her father stabbed Mavis's back with the same arrow. Blood was everywhere now, and Mavis let out a scream. As he grew angrier, he grew more into the demon that he is. Mavis finally had the strength to get up, and pulled the arrow out from his body. Genevieve smiled brighter. Mavis grew large black wings, and horns on his back.

Genevieve's father was impressed by his demon formation.

      "You passed." He told Mavis.

He was surely confused right now.

"Passed? I passed what? What the fu¢k is going on!?" Mavis asked.

Genevieve's father spoke up. "If you are brave and strong enough to fight me."

Mavis was angry that they put him into this mess. He pointed at his face and yelled, "You know what!? Fuck it! I'm going back up to my family, and forget this happened!"

"Wait!" Genevieve yelled. "Can I at least know your age? "

"I'm 17 years of age, you may not care, but I know who you are, Genevieve. I know where your mother is."

Genevieve's eyes got bigger. "You know my mother? Where is she!? Tell me!" She begged.

Mavis smiled. " She seeks for her beloved in a large, stone hole."

And with that, Mavis disappeared into the surface. Genevieve looked at her father. "Father, do you know what it could mean?"

"I don't know, dear."He replied. "I don't think we will find her, either."
