Everyone followed Rick into the cargo plane on the landing platform. Talia took the seat beside him, much to her dismay, and looked ahead out the window, unsure of what awaited her. She adjusted her battle gear and shifted in her uncomfortable seat. Her head turned to the right when a new face boarded the plane.
"You're late," Rick said to the masked woman. Talia narrowed her eyes in recognition of the Japanese vigilante, Katana. Talia and Katana had met on more than one account, and safe to say, the two did not always meet eye to eye.
"I was busy," Katana answered in Japanese. Talia understood her tongue and went back to looking out the window, without acknowledging her not wanting to start more banter.
"This is Katana," Rick introduced her, his gaze flickering between the villains. "She's got my back. She can cut all of you in half with one sword stroke, just like mowing the lawn. I would advise not getting killed by her. Her sword traps the souls of its victims."
"Harley Quinn. Nice to meet ya! Love your perfume. What is that? The stench of death?" Harley mockingly grinned at her. Katana placed a hand on the mantle of her sword and asked Rick, "Should I kill them?"
"Easy cowgirl. Ain't that kind of mission. Have a seat," Rick ordered her. She did as told and occupied the seat beside him. Talia deeply inhaled when the plane gradually took flight. The ride was short, quiet and in Talia's opinion, dreadful. She merely stared out the window to see where she was being taken while they arrived. Her eyes narrowed when she saw an unknown energy force in the sky.
"Look at that pretty lights! Are you guys seein' this?" Harley called and stared at the window, blocking Talia's view. Talia sighed in annoyance and said, "Maybe if you moved, we might be able to see, Quinn."
Harley spared her a glance and smiled, "Oh! Right!"
"What happened?" Deadshot asked Rick as he took off his headset which he had been using to monitor the pilot. Talia glanced at him curiously, awaiting his answer.
"Terror attack. Dirty bombs, bad guys shooting up the place with AKs. You know, usual shit," Rick answered him. Lie, Talia thought and smirked in amusement.
"Right," Deadshot stated. Talia turned and kept her eyes on Rick and after a few moments he met her gaze. Talia slowly and smoothly said to him through her thick exotic accent, "You are not a very good liar."
Rick merely stared at the woman with a blank expression, before Deadshot said, "I don't know if they told you, but I'm a hitman. I'm not a fireman. I don't save people."
"Anything for a dollar, right?" Rick asked him mockingly.
"You know the dark places, too. Don't act like you don't," Deadshot remarked with a false smile. Talia attention flickered between the two men, both amused and annoyed by their banter.
