I snapped back to reality when I overheard the discussion had now switched to Tawny's parents having arranged a welcome home party at the Club House for us.
"Tink, that's really not necessary. Just call Momma K and Pops and tell them that we really don't need the fanfare."
"No can do, your Pops has been waiting on this party since you left 6 years ago and you wouldn't want to disappoint Pops now would you?"
With a groan I fell silent, knowing I would do anything to please Pops as my insides become a bundle of nerves wondering if Z was going to be there.
Zion's POV
I knew the girls were on their way home, Tink had taken the truck early yesterday to pick them up and I was going to get the hell out of dodge before they showed up. It had been 6 years since I had seen Mea, although I had seen T when she was home at Easter, Mea had opted to overload her course schedule to be done in a shorter period of time. Graduating with highest honors and passing the Bar exam easily to become a full fledged lawyer.
I grabbed my bags and quickly made my way out of my room at the clubhouse trying to get to my bike where Rio was already waiting beside his to head out, only to be brought up short by the sight of my parents talking to Rio. Shit, that didn't bode well.
"Just where the hell do you think you are going?" My mother inquired.
"Rio and I are going to head over to Phoenix and then make our way to Flagstaff to check on things. Shouldn't be gone any more than a couple of weeks."
"Ummm you aren't going anywhere! The girls are coming home and you are going to be here for their welcome home party! Do you hear me boys?" She said pinning both of us with her gaze.
"Yes, Ma'am." We were both grudgingly replied, knowing that she would get her way even if we fought her on it as she rarely made demands.
"Besides you boys will have to be here to help keep an eye on the girls as you know they haven't been to a club type party and I want to make sure things stay under control." Added my father to my mother's order.
I flashed back to another time my father had told me to watch over the girls and make sure things stayed under control, their Sweet 16 party...
------------FLASH BACK---------
I has just returned home from finishing my first year of college and was informed that the girls were planning their Sweet 16 Party and since we limited most of their exposure to the MC (outside of the members who were always watching the girls to protect them), the MC's facilities and their "business ventures" they would be having the party at Mom and Pops' house.
Rio, Tink and I were charged with ensuring all stayed as it should be since my parents had agreed to stay away that night. The girls were not aware that while they had agreed to be out they had ensured that their girls would still be entirely protected giving both my parents and Mea's peace of mind.
We showed up after the party had been in full swing for a few hours to not appear obvious that we were checking in on them, making our way through the house, checking each room for the girls and ensuring there was no major damage. We finally reached the kitchen where we located T sitting on the counter talking to a group of their friends but Mea was nowhere to be found.
"Tawny, what the hell are you doing drinking?" I questioned as I snatched a beer can from her hand.
"Relax Z it was just a little bit!"
"T, you know what the rules were."
"God, who made you the fun police?"
"Enough, starting drinking water or I am sending all your friends home, got it? Now where is Mea?"
