I've led a common life
and i don't expect that everyone I've met will remember me,
but my love,
i hope that you will.

I do not wish for people to build statues of me,
i just hope that you'll long for my smile
whenever you see strangers greeting you in parks.
i do not wish to have my name in history books
or carved in a hall,
i just wish that you'll still write it in the sand
before the waves carry it away.

And my love,
I hope your morning still starts with coffees that resemble my eyes.
And when it rains,
i know you'll wear your favorite sweater,
and i hope my scent still lingers.

I hope you still look for me between the aisles in a bookstore.
Will you still read our favorite book?
I wish u still think of me when your favorite songs play on the radio.
I hope you still sing at the top of ur lungs.
I hope you still visit the places we've been
and the places we wanted to see together.
I hope you'll get there
and make you remember.
