Unacceptable truth

"What are you going to do to me now?" By that question I have already decided that I have trapped in this fatal fate. There's no turning back.

He didn't reply instead, quirking an eyebrow at me as if he's puzzled.

"What are you waiting for? Eat me. This is what the fate decided for me, to be a vampire's prey," My eyes flood with tears as I looked up him in the eyes.

"What are you talking about? I'm not going to harm you. If I wanted to harm you, I would have done it in the first place," His face was serious. I could clearly sense the truth in his words.

"Then what do you want from me?" I could savor the salty tears that stuck on my lips as I open my mouth to speak up.

"Okay, listen. I'm going to tell you something a bit unbelievable and unacceptable. All I ask is that you listen to them openly and try to understand," He cupped my face in his cold hands, wiping off the tears which left on my face.

I was shocked by the gesture and cringed a bit, feeling sparks shoot up my face at the contact which I had never felt before.

What kind of feeling is this?

I was completely paralyzed under his magnetic touch.

I nodded without knowing if I could ever be able to understand whatever crazy shit he's going to tell me.

Has not he done scare me enough?

"We are linked, you and I. Though I hate to say this directly,... you are my 'mate'," His words shot through my heart like an arrow.

What the heck is going on?

I swallowed hard as my mind tried to sort out that one word "mate". I don't have sufficient knowledge about vampires though I knew what a vampire mate meant to be.

"You've got to be kidding me," I snorted, though deep inside I was sure he meant by what he said.

"I told you it's a bit unbelievable. But that's our destiny. You can't do anything about it," He said, a serious expression on his face.

"Impossible" I dragged a hand over my face while my brain tried desperately to process all these new information. "I don't want this," I yelled, feeling myself annoyed.

He sighed.

"I will explain everything once you are ready to listen," He said as he opened the door and stepped out the room.

What more there to explain? I don't want to hear any of this.

"What about you? Do you want a weak human girl as your mate?" I asked before he could disappear from my sight. He stopped in his tracks and turned to face me.

"You must be tired. Get some rest," His mouth twisted into a sad smile as he turned around walking towards the dark and the door shut slowly onto my face.
