Classroom

I stopped by the doorway, sneaking a quick look around the classroom.

The number of students were more than I had in my previous school.

The classroom was dead silent despite being the greater number of students.

I was starting to feel a bit nervous. Meeting new people and adapting to new surroundings had always been a hellish thing for me.

I braced myself for all the looks as me, the new girl, not to mention a human, walk in to the class.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before entering in to the class.

Take it easy, Aeri.

Whispers and murmurs pointed towards me as I stood in front of the class like a complete fool.

People always had something to murmur about. I thought I was getting used to it. But I wasn’t.

My cheek flustered as I started to feel really conspicuous.

At least I was getting some attention from them unlike I was treated in my previous school where nobody seemed to notice my presence, I was like a ghost.

I scanned the room for an empty seat. I could spot one beside Jaera and one beside the guy I met in the woods.

He smiled and bowed his head acknowledging my presence while Jaera only looked at me and then looked away before I could pass a smile.

What’s wrong with this girl, anyway?

Everyone’s eyes were on me as I walked over to his seat.

At that moment I wanted to get out of the room.

I clutched my bag tightly as I walked down the aisle towards his seat.

My heart began to pound in my chest like a high school marching band.

Just stay calm.

“Can I sit here?” I asked, attempting to inject calm in my voice.

He seemed to be taken aback by my question. He paused for a moment then nodded his head hesitantly.

“Thank you,” I placed my backpack on the desk and settled comfortably beside him.

I glanced around the room for Taeyong. But he’s nowhere in sight.

What the hell?

He said he’d be here.

“Where is Taeyong?” I asked to him.

“Master is in a different class, miss,” He said.

Oh right! He’s a senior.

“I’m not miss. My name is Kim aeri and you can call me Aeri. There is no need to be polite when we are in school,” I said, completely failed to hide the annoyance in my voice.

He nodded considerately as a shy smile spread across his face, revealing his dimple.

Cute

“What should I call you?” I asked.

“Jaehyun,” He snuck his hand out for a handshake.

“You have got a pretty cool name,” I said as I took his hand and squeezed a bit before pulling away.

I couldn't help but notice some students were staring in my direction still and talking in hushed voices.

Ah! What a bother!
