16: Fight

The sunrise peaked above in the sky. The clearest sky happened in a while and the sun was shining and radiating too much of its heat and light.

Kurami yawned as she got up from her position. She rubbed her eyes and stretched until her bones cracked. She ain't old though.

She turned her head from side to side until she was completely awake. Her eyes enlarged when she realised she slept in the medical room. Kurami sniffed at her body and made a grimaced face.

"Kurami!", One of her workmates called.

"Yeah?", She answered quickly. He inserted his hand in his pocket and pulled out a letter. He handed the letter to her.

"This came in the mailbox for you"

Kurami nodded, "Thank you"

She opened the envelope and took the letter out. She read the letter and to her surprise, it came from The Seventh.

Dear Kurami,

I would like you to come back to the village after you receive this letter immediately due to a serious matter that I believe you would be capable of because

You're a genius!!

I would like to talk to you about the incident that occurred yesterday near the border of the land of fire.

I hope you will make it in time

The Seventh

Kurami almost choked at his way of informing people. This doesn't seem professional enough, but he's the Hokage anyways. At least she understood.

She left her white, lab coat hanging on the coat hanger of her locker and informed her workmates that she will be going back to the village. Then she went on with her journey.

As she stepped out of the building, she went back in immediately.

"Why is it so hot today?", Kurami whined as she sheltered her eyes with one of her hands. She quickly took an umbrella and opened it as a coverage for her. She walked out to the way of the village.

Now, she had been walking for almost thirty minutes under the scorching sun. Kurami was sweating bullets. As she was strolling, she sensed something.

One step has snapped a twig

Three steps coming from behind

........

Kurami halted her track. When she heard a blow, she instantly closed the umbrella and swung the bullet away. It then exploded into million pieces.

A bullet bomb?

Abruptly, a pack of robotic puppets charged towards her in an inhuman speed. She quickly made the dog hand seal, "Water style! Water basin jutsu!"

Waves of water spread across the area. This slowed them down. She jumped out and moulded her hands for a lightning jutsu.

"Lightning style! Thunder binding!"

The puppets were binded in the electrical triangle. Since water is conductive to electricity, majority of them were electrocuted, but there were still more left. They were stronger.

Kurami activated her eyes and pulled out a kunai. She ran towards them and put a forceful punch at one of them.

Another puppet swung a shuriken at her while she was at the mids of the punch, but she acted speedily and swiftly back flipped and threw a kunai at it which hit the two targets perfectly.

The other swung its leg under her, which caught her off guard. She dropped onto the ground, but rolled over as the puppet stabbed a dagger into the dry ground.

She used her dojutsu visualisation to turn that stabbing ground into stabbing puppet. Giving a kick in the shin, she gave a powerful blow under the chin, completely destroying it into pieces. Unfortunately, there was still more.

Why is there more?! I'm freaking tired now!

"That's it!", Kurami roared in anger. She moulded her hand into hand seals and bellowed, "Earth style! Dark swamp!"

Kurami concentrated using her chakra to create a boggy swamp. The robotic puppets were swallowed up and never to be seen again. Kurami panted heavily. That jutsu Koji taught her extracted more chakra than expected.

"Aw I thought those were powerful enough to take you down. I guess I have to step up my game on technology", A feminine woman voiced out. It was no other then Delta. Kurami had to admit, the puppets were more powerful than the last time.

"What was the point of that?"

She smiled, "I don't know, I just wanted something to entertain me"

Kurami rolled her eyes in annoyance.

"What do you actually want?"

"Hmf, okay you got me. I was sent here to bring you back to the organisation"

Kurami stared at her with a tedious look on her face. She was in the process of thinking.

"I don't want to go just yet. I have some other stuff to do"

Delta observed her when Kurami averted her eyes.

"Don't lie to me. I know you don't want to come back"

She gaped at her.

"I still don't understand why we're doing this. They are actually trying their best for the sake of this world. Maybe if we coul-", Kurami was cut off by Delta.

"Do whatever you want, but you'll return......Mark my words, Kurami", Delta smirked and left her stranded in the mess.

Kurami stood there dumbfounded. She didn't give a single damn about the weather now. Her words kept replaying in her mind.
