I wake up in the nurses office. I look around the room and look for a clock on the wall. It's 9:00 am. Was I passed out for that long? It feels like I was sleeping for ten minutes.
"Hey, hun. How are you feeling?" The nurse asks me as she walks into the room.
"I feel fine, actually." I look up at her, in hopes that I can go to class.
"Alright. If you're feeling fine you can go to class now if you'd like."
"Yeah — can I go to class?"
"Of course! First, you'll need to stop by the office to get your schedule though."
"Okay." I get up and grab my backpack off of a chair next to the bed.
"Here's a note for your teacher." She says, handing me a note.
"Thank you." I say as I walk out of the room.
I walk down the hall and make my way to the front office.
I walk in and ask for my schedule, locker number and my books. They hand me my books and a piece of paper with my locker number, combination, and my schedule. I walk out of the office, looking to the right, searching for my locker. I bump into something and drop all of my books.
"Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to bump into you." I hear a male voice say.
I look up to see a boy with purple hair and an eyebrow piercing.
"It's fine." I say, giving him a little bit of attitude.
"Oh my god. You're the girl that I caught in the crowd," he says and smiles. "Well, I'm glad you're okay."
"Yep. That's me." I try not to be rude, but I'm just having a really bad day so far.
I grab my books off of the floor and open my locker.
"You could at least thank me, you know." He crosses his arms and rolls his eyes.
"Thanks." I say and give him a quick smile.
"Are you a fan?"
"Of?"
"Me and the guys?" He asks, puzzled.
"Who's 'me and the guys'?"
"5 Seconds Of Summer. You know, the band?"
"Oh," I pause for a moment. "Not really."
"Oh," he pauses. "Well, my name is Michael, but I've gotta get back to class."
"Good to know," I give him a fake smile. "Later."
"Wow." He says and walks away.
I close my locker and look at what class I have. I'm going to chemistry in room 332. Crap. I have no idea where that is. All I know is that it's on the third floor. I see Michael walking up the stairs.
"Hey, Michael!" I yell for him and he turns around.
"Great. What do you want now?" He sighs.
"I have a quick question," I run over to him. "Do you know where room 332 is?"
"I'm going there right now. I can take you there." He smiles at me.
We walk up the stairs and Michael leads me to room 332. He opens the door for me and I thank him as I walk into the class. I give my teacher the note that the nurse wrote for me.
"Thank you, Miss Smith. Go take a seat."
I see that there are only two seats left, in the back, and they're right next to each other. Great. I walk over to the seat that's up against the wall. I take off my backpack and sit down. Michael comes trailing behind me and sits down next to me. He smiles at me nervously. This is going to be a long semester.
