"Oh, turn here," Michael points to where I have to turn. "Just drop me off here."

I look around and see that we're at a park.

"Michael, this is a park." I chuckle.

"Uh, yeah my house is just- um- right down the street. I'll just walk the rest of the way." He gives me a fake smile.

"Michael, are you lying to me?" I look at him and raise an eyebrow.

"Uh, no." He looks out the window, avoiding eye contact.

"You're lying to me again." I park the car and cross my arms.

"Okay, I can explain," he finally admits he's lying to me. "See, me and the guys live together. They kind of kicked me out. Just until we make up again."

"What were you gonna do if I did drop you off here?"

"I don't know. Probably sleep on a bench for the night." He shrugs.

"Michael, you could have asked to stay at my house. You're welcome to if you'd like." I smile at him.

"Really?" He smiles showing his white teeth.

"Yes, really." I smile bigger and roll my eyes at him.

"Thanks, Sophia! I could kiss you!" His eyes widen at what he just said, he scratches the back of his neck and looks out the window.

"I didn't mean it like that. I mean, I wouldn't want to kiss you."

Ouch.

"I mean-" I cut him off before he could finish his sentence.

"No, Michael, I understand." I say firmly.

"I'm sorry. I jus-"

"Michael, I said it's fine." I look over at him.

"I'm sorry." He states again and looks down at his feet.

I tear my eyes from him and put the car in drive. We arrive at my house sooner than I expected. We get out of the car and walk up to my front door in silence. I open the door and head straight to my room, Michael trailing behind me. I throw my bag down next to my bed. I put my phone on the charger and sit down on the edge of my bed, leaving my feet dangling. I look up to see Michael standing in the doorway of my room awkwardly.

"You can come in and sit down, you know." I pat the the bed next to me and Michael walks over.

He sits down fairly close to me. We are in silence but it's not the least bit awkward. It's actually a comfortable silence.

"I'm sorry." Michael states for the fiftieth time today. He looks down and swings his feet, causing them to hit the side of the bed.

"Michael, look at me." Michael looks up from his feet and stares into my eyes. It wasn't until now that I realize he's got wonderful, piercing green eyes. They were like little gems — bright and beautiful.

A few moments later, I hadn't realized that I'd just been continuously staring into his big green gems of what he calls eyes.

"Sophia?" Michael asks, waving a hand in front of my face.

"Sorry." I laugh awkwardly and bite my lip.

"God dammit, Sophia." Michael says and I'm confused.

"What?"

"Don't fucking bite your lip."

"Oh. You mean like this?" I ask him and bite my lip again.

"Yes, like that. Now stop."
