Jack's POV
I could finally take off this terrible suit and slip into comfortable clothes- meaning a blue t-shirt and normal jeans-. I made my way to Selena's room, in my arm my favorite pullover. Because, in one thing Ryan had overacted: The hemline of Selena's outfit!
Silently I knocked on the door when my angel in a human body opened. "What?" she asked, and I heard a bit of fear in her voice. Whatever my brother had done to her, he would regret it. "Can I come inside?" I asked as friendly as possible and Selena let me enter.
The air was stuffy, it seemed that she hadn't had time to open the windows. So I did. The Angel didn't seem to really know what to to with the current situation. That was why she just stood next to the door, twisting her hands. I picked up my hoodie and went closer to her.
"Aren't you cold?" I asked a bit rhetorical, and Selena just flinched with her head. "Hands up." I said and the Angel did as I asked so I could pull the hoodie over her. The cloth almost covered her completely. Really it touched her knees. That was of course because, for one, Selena was a bit tiny, and secondly, I had bought this hoodie a few sized too big. At lasts I took of this hideous headpiece. "Better, my girl?" I asked. Selena quickly looked into the mirror, the black of the hoodie made her hair shine even brighter. "Yes, a lot better. And please, don't call me 'my girl'." She said and turned to me. I grabbed her hand sat down next to her on her bed. "What else can it be? Princess? Angel? Honey?" I went on on my search for a cute nickname. Such I perfect person couldn't just be called Babe or Bae.
Selena didn't answer me, but pulled the hoodie over her feet. "All of this, makes me scared. I mean, you and your brother have killed five people and kidnapped me. Twice." she said silently. I managed that she leaned closer to me and she finally laid her head on my lap. "Don't be scared, Selena. I won't hurt you. I can imagine how hard this for you to accept. Take your time." I said and brushed her hair out of her face.
Slowly, so that my Angel didn't get scared even more, I circled around the MCR-Logo on the hoodie on my fingers. That gave me an idea an I pulled out my MP3-Player, giving one headphone to my Princess.
"Do you know the Holy Emo Quartet?" I asked curious and Selena turned around for a second and looked into my eyes. "Is that a question?" she asked rhetorically. So, I started my favorite playlist and waited until Selena had calmed down.
The Angel had begun to make sweaterpaws and pull her feet closer, the music seemed to help her. >She is so cute< I tought while I began to sing 'Blood' together with Selena. >And that voice!< A smile wandered over my lips while I turned the head of my princess straight again. I didn't know how, but she managed to slip all the time and risk t fall from the bed. It seemed that Selena didn't notice that and it seemed like she was not here with me in her mind.
Suddenly it knocked on the door and I let go of Selena. In front of the door stood a Butler. "My lord, lunch had been prepared. Should I let it be brought to the room?" he asked. I looked over to Selena quickly and nodded to the man. "Yes, for the lady too." I answered and closed the door again. I knew that I would have to endure a speech from Ryan how I was hogging Selena, but I had to make sure that Selena was eating.
Some minutes later two plates were placed on the nightstand. I had tried to wake my Angel, but she was still very much in a shock phase. Carefully, I pulled out her headphones and began to cut the food. Slowly, I picked up her head and the taste of fresh chicken seemed to wake her. Suddenly, her eyes opened and she wanted to slap the fork out of my hand, but not with me.
Sometime after she calmed down again and began to chew the food. "Is it too much to ask to first wake me and THEN feed me?" she asked a bit angry. "If you would have woken up I would have let you eat on your own." I pushed the fork into her mouth, but Selena didn't seem thrilled. Still, she put up with it and kept on eating. Something wasn't right here.
„Sel?" I asked gingerly and the girl turned her head to me. Carefully, I sweeped the dirt away from the corner of her mouth. " I had expected a bit more... protest from you. Not that I'm bothered by it..." I tried to sum up my thoughts. Selena took a long breath, leaned against the wall and pulled her knees to her chest. "When you had a childhood like I had then you know when you have to stop fighting and start to pray." the Angel explained and leaned her head back, taking a look around the room. Something told me that I should grab her hand and get closer to her.
"Tell me about it." I said and I followed the little veins that could be seen on her hand.
Jack's POV
"Only when I can be sure that you won't tell anyone." she said and closed her eyes. I leaned closer to her. "I won't tell anyone. What gain would it have if I did?" I whispered into her ear and turned around, so that I was sitting next to her. "My father was British and when he met my mother on a trip through Italy they lived together on Sicily." she began and brushed her hair out of her face.
"That'S that one Island there, isn't it?" I tried to keep the chat alive. "Yeah... Well, my parents were pretty well of, at least for sicilian standards. But first and foremost, they didn't have problem with the Mafia." she kept on telling me, shrugging with her shoulders. "My uncle, a big asshole by the way, had a problem with the Cosa Nostra." If she pronounced that name like this again I would go crazy. Her pronunciation was perfect.
"He was in debt by some higher ups, and he couldn't pay the money back. After he somehow made it to drift through the sea with concreted feet the Mafia decided that someone had still to pay back the money. And because we were the closest relatives..." She wrapped her arms around her legs but didn't stop to gesticulate with her hands.
"My parents didn't have the money, given that they had two children." she want on. "Then the mobsters had the great idea that human goods were worth something worth too and were ready to take Alex or me. My parents fled with us across Italy. We thought that we were safe in Lucca. New names, new identity. But after five years they had us. They blew up the car of my parents, killing them. And they took what they wanted. Even when we weren't with them for long, this room still reminds me of our small prison. Then there were two long years of court hearings, just to see this guys get away with all of this!"
The Angel had begun to cry and I wiped her tears away. "Alex, the crown witness was declared crazy and put into a psychiatry, and I was given to foster families. And not all of them are as sweet as the tv-shows make them seem." Selena's head fell onto my shoulder and I stroked over her hair.
"The mobsters got caught and Alex was let out. Again we were given new names and got on our merry way to Murica." she said and rubbed her eyes. "When I look at it now it would have made more sense to just give up and let them take me." she whispered.
"That is not true. I don't intend to hurt you." I told her and kissed her forehead.'"If you tell this to anyone, Jack Johnson, you are a dead man! And I will do it with my own fucking hands!" Selena ordered, but she still had tears in her eyes. "I just told you that I won't tell anyone. Now calm down, you are safe here." I pulled my Princess into a hug and waited till her sobbing turned into small hiccups. I slowly peeled her off of me and Selena sat down with her feet crossed. "Can I have the headphone again?" she asked and I couldn't say no. I gave her the Mp3-Player and she leaned closer to me.
Now that I knew her secret Selena seemed to to trust me a bit.
A/N: I know this comes a bit random, but it will be important for the rest of the story.
