Bloody hands

Chapter 3.3: The burial

Ryan's POV (3 days later)

I'd taken my binoculars and was sitting on a weeping willow that stood in the graveyard along with Jack.
"Give me!" he shouted and tried to take the binoculars from me.
"You had your fun, it's my turn now! Oh, there she is!"
I zoomed a little closer to see her outline better.

She was dressed in all black, which let her eyes shine the brighter. The coffin of her sister was carried in front of her.

It was a small burial, some of her relatives came over from Europe and some classmates were there.
"Okay, I'm gonna go now."
Jack jumped down from the branch we were sitting on, ran over to the group of mourning people and stood next to Selena. I tolerated the nearness between the two for now because it could prove to come in handy but if he went too far...

They slowly lowered the coffin into the grave and began to shovel earth onto it. It was an ordinary funeral but the reason I was there was to watch over my property.

Jack was still standing next to her and put his arms around her. If he wouldn't be my brother, he would be dead where he stood. I pulled my hood over my face and got closer to the small group that was now leaving the graveyard.
My brother and I got on our bikes and trailed behind Selena. We noticed that she lived somewhere else now and wanted to know where. It was a bigger distance than we thought but the car which held my property finally stopped.

The house we stood in front of was in a richer part of the city. The walls were orange and covered in moss. It was nice but in comparison to what Jack and I could give Selena, it was nothing. I was looking at the house for a bit longer when Jack came back from his round of scouting for information.

"The house is secured, we need to know the code to get into the garden. Aside from that: I know who lives here."
"Spit it out," I ordered and crossed my arms.
"The Smith's live here. How do we remove them from the picture?" he asked and leaned onto one foot.
"We don't. At least for now. Selena should calm down first, else she may suspect us..."
I said and turned around to drive home.

A/N: I know this chapter is reaaaally short, but I couldn't put it with the next one, I just couldn't.  I hope cute pictures will suffice.
