I never bothered with homeless plea signs. People ignore them and think they're fake anyway. In summer time I often see people walking past that knew me. If I could remember their names I'd call them over. Well, I don't even think I would do that. I don't like people taking pity on me. I never chose this life. I used to have a girlfriend. She was going to be my fiancé. She was nothing particularly special to look at: plain brown hair, brown eyes, pale freckle covered skin... She definitely wasn't some "Daisy Duke" but I loved her. Where she lacked in her looks, she made up for it ten times over in her personality. Kind, sweet, loving, funny... And happy. Always. Well, almost always. By now you're wondering, what I did that was so terrible to let such a precious jewel slip between my fingers? Well, I didn't do enough that was the problem. Looking back, I know there was so much more I could have done. If I had stayed up with her all night I would have known I needed to save her life.
