19th December 1992
"Goodnight angel." I kissed Dalie six times and snuggled down in bed beside her. She had been very unresponsive all day. Tomorrow marked a year since her parents died and she was struggling even more each day. I flipped the switch of the light six times then settled down. I was exhausted but prepared myself for a seriously rough night. I considered staying up all night to watch her sleep but I decided I was being silly. I would be there if she needed me.
