The next morning, I woke up to tight arms wrapped around my waist.  My back was against Negan's chest and I could feel his breathing fluctuating slowly, indicating he was still asleep.  I slowly pulled him off of me and got up slowly, careful not to wake him.  He stirred slowly but stayed asleep.  I got up and went over to the bathroom to take a shower.

Once I got out, I wrapped a towel around me and went out to grab clothes.  Luckily Negan was still asleep or I knew he'd make a comment about me being in just a towel.  I walked back into the bathroom to change into a pair of jeans and a black t-shirt.  When I walked back out, Negan was just waking.  I walked over to the bed and sat near him.

"Thank you, for defending me last night."  I whispered.  "And staying here with me."

"I was planning on getting rid of my wives for you, today actually.  But that was just the tip of the fucking iceberg.  I'm sorry that happened, they were all bitches anyway."  Negan smiled.  I laughed slightly.

"Why would you get rid of your wives for me?"  I asked him.  The gesture made me happy and it helped things a little.  But I'm still trying to figure out my feelings.

"I care about you.  More than you know.  Like I told them last night, I've felt more content with you in three days than I did with any of them.  Granted, I've never had an actual conversation with any of them but they were hard to talk to anyway.  Conversation with you feels like I've known you for my whole life and it just comes naturally."  He explained to me.  I felt a smile form on my face.  "Believe me when I say, you're something special."

"I appreciate that, Negan.  I never got a chance to thank you properly for letting me go back to Alexandria yesterday.  It was really great to see everyone, let them know I'm okay."  I smiled, placing a hand on his outstretched leg.

"Get a chance to see your fake boyfriend?"  He asked of Daryl, tone changing.

"Yeah, I did.  Whatever we had between each other, I ended things."  I said quietly.

"You did?"  His voice picked up.

"I did.  But that doesn't mean he still isn't my best friend."  I added.  Negan nodded slowly.  I decided to swallow my pride and leaned into him.  I placed the slightest peck on his lips and moved away.  "Come on."  I said, standing up and putting my hand out for him to take.  "It's already 9:00, you need to start your day."  He took my hand willingly and I walked with him to his room so he could get ready.

As he picked out his usual attire, I sat with my legs crossed on his couch, reading a new book as we finished the one I started last night.  After he finished getting ready, we parted ways as I went to find Damian outside and he went to Simon.

"I'll find you later."  He said as he let go of my hand.  He winked at me before turning on his heal and doing his infamous strut with his bat slung over his shoulder.

(A/N: Sorry to do this, but I'm gonna ~time lapse~ two months so it has now been two months since Avery has been in the Sanctuary)

I woke up early one morning, unusual for me.  Usually, I stayed in bed until around 9:00 a.m.  Negan and I have been keeping things friendly between each other.  I still visit him in his room, vice versa, but he's respecting my wishes that I want to keep a friendship with him.  I haven't been back to Alexandria since the first time but then again, we haven't had any run ins with them.

I got up for the day to get ready and find Damian.  He was my best friend here and we made sure to spend our days together.  When I walked outside, he was sitting at a picnic table writing in a book.  I made sure to visit Jackson first before walking over to Damian.

"Hey, how's it going?"  He asked me, looking up when I sat across from him.  "You're up early."  He noted.

"I don't know why, I woke up at 7 and couldn't get back to sleep.  It's okay though, I guess I could stop being a hermit every once and awhile."  I joked.  "What were you writing?"  I asked him.

"Just some thoughts.  I like to keep everything written down, helps when I'm bored or I just have a lot going on."  He told me.  "Do you want one?  They're in the meeting room."  He asked.

"I'd love that."

I stood up with him and I followed him to the meeting room.  The Saviors held a meeting in here about four or five times a week.  I usually sat in on the meetings, in a chair next to Negan.  I quickly became his right-hand, with Simon of course.  I walked over to the bookcase in the corner and took a small notebook.

Turning around, I parted from Damian and walked back outside to Jackson's grave, deciding I would get my best inspiration next to him.

Lost in my thoughts, I began writing everything I was holding in for the past few months.  I couldn't believe I hadn't thought about taking one of these before.  I felt a presence behind me and turned around to see Negan moving next to me and sitting down.

"What are you writing about?"  He asked.

"Everything, and nothing.  Just a scramble of things I guess."  I laughed.

"How long has it been?"  He asked about Jackson.

"A year, and about two months, almost three."  I answered.  I still kept tallies, but I moved the markings to my desk.  He stayed quiet, but I didn't mind.  I closed my journal and stood up, Negan standing along with me.  I decided to give him a peck on his cheek.

"You're making it really hard to stay away from you, doll."  He laughed.

"Give me time."  I smiled, before walking away from him.
