As you finish up with a new customer at the counter, the bell overhanging the door jingles pleasantly, signaling yet another customer. Business has picked up since a few weeks ago and you and (f/n) have had to work a lot. You've had to work nearly every morning. That doesn't bother you, though, because of one special, returning customer.
You look toward the door at the sound of the bell and smile brightly when you see your new friend.
"Hey, Seb. How's it goin'?"
"Goin' good," he replies, stepping up to the counter with a smile. "How about you?"
"Better now that my favorite customer is here." He smiles wider at you. "So what'll it be?" you ask as he pulls out his wallet and starts sifting through his cash right away.
"You know it," he says while fishing out some bills and change and handing the money to you.
"One 'Seb Usual' coming up," you answer cheerfully as you ring up his order and get started on it.
Sebastian and you have become really good friends since the first day he came in. He came every morning after that to get the same thing as the first day: (Favorite drink) and a chocolate chip muffin. Quite a few times he would still be at the cafe once your shift ended and you would sit with him and chat for a bit. You've grown really close because of it and now he's one of your best friends--next to (f/n), of course.
The only problem is, you've been feeling really guilty about this whole thing. Sebastian still doesn't know you know who he is, much less, are a giant fan of his. You feel like you're living a lie around him. F/n has tried to tell you that it's ok but nothing can convince you. The guilt keeps eating away at you every time you're with him--which seems to be a lot nowadays.
When you finish Sebastian's order, you bring it over to him at his usual table by the large front windows. He smiles as you approach, slipping his cell phone into his pocket.
"Here you go."
"Thank you so much," he says smiling down at his food.
You start to walk away but Sebastian stops you.
"Hey, wait! Are we gonna hang out after your shift?" he asks hopefully.
"Sure, if that's what you want," you answer back with a delighted smile.
"You sure you got nowhere to be?" You laugh a little.
"Do I ever?" He laughs at that and nods while you return to your place behind the counter, a frown coming to your face. You'll have to spend another, guilt-ridden afternoon with Sebastian. This is ridiculous you say to yourself. I just need to come clean. Taking a deep breath to ease yourself of the mere thought of telling him the truth, you continue your work, for once hoping it will last forever.

You wipe the last bit of crumbs off the countertop and look up at the clock for the millionth time, praying time has passed slower than all the other times you've look up at it during your shift.
It hasn't.
You sigh and swallow nervously as you see that it's the end of your shift--five minutes after, actually. Shaking out the dirty dish rag and setting it off to the side, you take in a shaky breath before taking a brave look at Sebastian, still sitting at his table, sipping what's left of his drink and gazing out the window at the people passing by.
Don't chicken out. Maybe....he'll understand.
Untying your apron as you round the corner of the counter, you set it down before walking over to Sebastian with a dimmed smile. He doesn't seem to notice as he looks at you and smiles back. You take a seat and hide your shaking hands under the table.
