Chapter 10 - Without Thought

Izuku POV

After the incident with Stain, Iida, Toderoki and I got sent to a hospital for check ups. While we were there, we were talking about what was going to happen to us. Vigilantism is a crime, but I think we all know that beating Stain is a big achievement.

While we were discussing who got the final hit ( which is obviously me) a Man with a dog face in a suit came into our room. He introduced himself a the chief officer of a branch of the police force.

He stated that we will be let off all charges if we say that Endeavor defeated Stain. I agreed without a hesitation - if word gets out that I defeated a villain, a powerful one at that, then I'll be automatically a target and eyes will be on me, which is a bad thing.

Luckily, the others agreed too and the decision has been made. We were all let go and I quickly went to Gran Torino's place to explain what happened. I got there and knocked three times. The second I finished knocking, the door opened and out cane a short, old man.

"I heard what happened, very irresponsible. Come in, sit down. "He said with an expression I couldn't read. I listened and took a seat, I also told him the whole story of how I found Iida going to die, Full Cowl, the decision that Endeavor will take credit.

Gran Torino listened carefully and made no interruptions - when I was done looked at me straight in the eyes.

"You have a good heart kid, for trying to save your friend against a foe even pro heroes would wet themselves fighting against. " he said slowly, as if he was picking his words carefully. "But you didn't have the experience, the knowledge of the villain or any thing for that matter. You went in blind and reckless, just like All Might when he first got One for All. It's a miracle your still alive"

I listened intently to see how I could improve, of course Gran Torino doesn't know about my time quirk but he has much more knowledge and experience than me.

"Of course, I'll try my best to improve."I said honestly.

"Well the internship is over, you have exceeded my expectations and I'm happy that I taught a bright young mind like yours. ". And with that, I went home - for tomorrow is school.

I went home to see mom cooking, she heard me open the door and welcome me.

"Hello Izuku, I made some chili ramen today so please go and wash your hands." She told me kindly. I listened and went upstairs and bathed my hands in the hot water while adding soap.

I went downstairs and ate, when I finished I put my fork and spoon down. I thanked mom for the dinner and was about to leave until a voice called me over.

"Izuku, come back, I need to talk with you."my mom said - I looked at her face and it shown an expression of sadness. " you're always locked up in your bedroom, in school or training that I never have a chance to be with you"

I contemplated the thought, I've changed so drastically the past 2 years that my mom doesn't even know who I turned into.  

"Sorry mom, I'm just too busy wrapped up in my desire to become a hero that I... I..." I said, starting to get emotional " I forgot about you"

All of a sudden, guilt overcame me and I cried onto my moms shoulder while repeating the words 'I'm sorry'.
When I was done, she looked into my eyes, tears ran down her cheeks. She said it was ok and she knew how much I wanted to be a hero.

There was silence after she said that, not a single bird chirped, not a single car passed by, not even the sound of my heart beat. I then went upstairs, back to reality, back to myself, back to my selfish desires...

Time skip
