As I woke up to the smell of my dad's delicious pancakes, my first immediate reaction was to jump out of bed in my baby blue pjs and head to the kitchen.

''Morning sweetie'' Dad smiles as I take an aggressive sip of the apple juice he had laid on the table.

''Morning dad..'' I almost struggle to say as I drowned myself in juice.

''Had a good night with the girls from school yesterday?'' He leans in and takes a seat in front of me.

''Yeah, we had fun'' I said without realizing his actual question. Without realizing what I was really up to yesterday.

But then it hit me. The biggest question was how?? How could I forget about yesterday? I was at Miles party. Did I black out beside Shawn? WHAT? HOW? HOW did I get home? How am I wearing blue pjs? What happened??? I felt like screaming inside my head as I hardly bit myself inside my mouth.

''I was so tired yesterday'' I faked a laugh. ''Did you hear me come through the door?'' I asked him, still oblivious to what happened.

''No, my night shift was extended, so I just got home now.'' Dad gets me a plate of pancakes. ''So what you think about your new classmates?''

''I honestly don't know.'' I think aloud, as I drift to my own world.

Last thing I remembered from yesterday was Shawn?

Later that night, I called the others on Skype.

''I don't get it? How did I get home?'' I furiously ask them.

''Girl, you were gone the whole night. And when I finally found Miles, he told me you already left at midnight.'' Olly said.

''Midnight??'' I wanted to rip my head off.

''Guess you were tired?'' Ally asked me but I shook my head.

Yeah, I was tired but that does not correspond with the fact that my memories are completely blank from yesterday. I didn't want to bother them anymore with my conspicuous lost memories, so I went off.

The whole weekend, I tried to get my mind focusing on something else than my Friday night meanwhile I was working on my project and brainstorming without Shawn. Obviously, our teamwork wasn't working and I had no idea how to get in contact with him. And there was no way we could make the project within two days if we didn't work together. But whether he was in or not, I had to be productive before I'd start to procrastinate all my stuff like I usually do.

Sunday morning, I went to Tim Hortons to get my usual meal and coffee. I was standing in line to make my order when someone taps my shoulder from behind.

"Excuse me, you you dropped your-..." an unfamiliar voice comes from behind. As I turn around, yet her face seemed so familiar but her voice unrecognizable. "Purse" she slowly finished, and looks at me as if she had recognized me from somewhere.

"Thanks" I smiled and turned around to avoid the awkwardness of not remembering who she was.

"Aaliyah, see you tomorrow" I hear her friend tell her.

Aaliyah.

Wait Aaliyah Mendes?

That's insane. I couldn't recognize her because she's gotten so big. My little baby has gotten so big! As much as I wanted to turn around and give her a big hug, I knew it wasn't right. She doesn't know me. She was only 6 years at the time, and now that 7 years has passed by, it was obvious that I was just another stranger.

I couldn't help myself but turn around and face her after I got my order.

"Aaliyah?" I asked her. She looked at me for a while before she'd open her mouth.

"I know you from somewhere, don't I?'', she thinks about it but can't seem to remember me.

"It's Malliah." I nervously smile, hoping she'd remember my name.

Her eyes were as bright as I remembered.

She suddenly pulled me in and gave me a warm big hug.

"I can't believe you're finally here. I'm truly sorry for what happened in Louisiana.", she breathed.

Finally? Was she expecting me to come back?
