She couldn't sleep her argument with Connor rested on her mind and the fact that her parents were here. What was she going to do? She slid on Connor's shirt and sniffed it and made her way downstairs she felt for pickles and cream. She flipped on the kitchen light to get the things from the refrigerator. She sprayed whip cream over the pickle and ate it slowly. Taste so good. She gave a moan, she heard a shuffle and looked up and felt instantly disgusted.
"Don't stop moaning because of me." Was he trying to be slick? She asked herself.
"Don't you have somewhere else to be?" She asked him chewing her pickle.
"No." He smiled at her if it was when she was sixteen her heart would have fluttered but all she wanted to do was kill him. "I thought that you and I could rekindle our old flame." He smirked making his way over to her. "Bury the hatchet."
"In your skull. You thought wrong." She moved away.
"C'mon you know you still want me." He suggested and she felt the pickle coming to a bay. Good baby your mother hates him too.
"You're a flesh-eating virus what would I be doing with you?" She asked agitatedly.
He grabbed her hand. "Don't play hard to get." He warned.
She pushed him away. "You ever touch me again I will melt you from inside and no one will ever know so test me, Jeremy, just test me. I dare you. Give me a better reason than I have to kill you." Her blood boiled.
"What happened to you?" he asked.
"A flesh-eating virus." I hissed and walked away. "Don't steal anything you frigging klepto." She walked up the stairs and closed her door she hadn't trusted him to leave it at that. She ate her pickle and cream then fell asleep.
Get up. She swung her legs off the bed barely making it to the toilet. She vomited up the pickles from last night. Her head over the toilet and her puked up hair sticking to her face. Gross. She stepped into the shower and washed her hair and her body. She needed her family to go back home because they were causing a problem in her marriage already. She stepped out and wrapped the towel around her body letting it soak up the water that was on her body. She blew out her hair and stood and looked at her bump.
"I'm giving life." She said with a smile.
She put on shorts and a t-shirt and went downstairs where the house was already alive. The household help was preparing breakfast as her mother watched them making sure they didn't poison the food.
"Mrs. Jeps..." The maid trailed as another elbowed her. "Ms. Foster, Mr. Jepson said that he'd be home this morning." She informed Jada and the panic started again.
"Who is this Mr. Jepson?" Her mother asked.
"They share the house together." Kadian saw me struggling and came to help. "Guess what?" She said.
"What?" Her father asked.
"He's white." Kadian said smiling at the shocked look on their faces.
"Why Jada why?" Her mother rubbed her temples.
"He's super nice we met in college." She said quickly.
"What will Jeremy think when he hears this?" She asked, her only thought was to make sure all her children had spouses of the same race and Jade or Kadian didn't want that but Kadian was more outright with it.
"I don't care what Jeremy thinks. Why can't you understand that?" she felt her anger vein rising.
"Jeremy is a good man." Her father said.
"I don't want Jeremy. If he's such a good man why don't you marry him?" Her vein was about to pop.
"You'll watch your mouth young lady." Her mother's tone was stern.
"I am twenty-two and this is my house." Her head felt light but she stood her ground. The staff watched a smile slowly creeping up on each of their faces.
"We can leave." Her mother fired back. She began staggering stepping back.
"Ms. Foster all this stress isn't good for the baby." Albert held her up.
"Baby?" Her father asked.
"What baby?" Her mother asked.
"I'm pregnant." She said.
"How?"
"That's just a stupid question." Kadian shot.
"Wedlock." Her mother paced. "You can't have this baby, Jeremy can't know about this." She continued pacing.
"Are you serious?" Kadian looked at her with so much hatred it could have killed her.
"How dare you?" Jade fired.
"How dare you go and spread your legs?" He mother shot back.
"Fuck you, fucking cunt get out." Jade wasn't one to curse she was a wholesome girl.
"Don't speak to your mother like that." Her father flared.
"She is here talking about aborting my child and I'm in the wrong?" She wanted to kick them out and tell them never to return and to eat her nuts but she took deep breaths.
"This stress is not good for the baby," Albert said in a panic. "Ms. Foster please deep breaths and calm down." He ordered her.
"This is why I never go home Alby." She smiled at the butler.
"I understand now ma'am." She was calm and everyone had shut up.
"I'm calm." She said at last.
"Jada, why didn't you use protection?" Her father asked.
"You know my baby is none of your business." She snapped again.
"Abortion." Kadian chuckled but she had some unspoken hatred towards her parents.
"Maybe we should go to the doctor?" Albert said.
"No, I'm okay." She smiled at him. "I just need some food." She got up taking a piece of toast from the pile. Justin and Jeremy walked in but Connor was with them and he was smiling. Oh shit.
