"Hola." Stacy came in and stopped at the scene. "Well what do we have here?" She looked at Jeremy who was in front of me and a pissed Connor.

"Who is this now?" her mother rolled her eyes.

"My friend Stacy." Jada walked away from Jeremy over to Stacy and gave her a hug. "I owe you big time." She whispered in her ear.

"Don't you have any black friends?" Justin asked.

"Don't you have any job holding friends?" She snapped back.

"How white can a name be?" her father laughed. She mouthed a sorry to her.

"Oh, so names have a color that's just stupid." She comeback. "So isn't Susan a white name then. Because where I grew up it was the name of a chubby white girl on the block." Stacy was all about arguing whether she would win or not.

"Your friend is rude," Susan said.

"C'est la vie." Jada shrugged tired of her parents shit.

"Connor I have a gift for you." She waved a cake around.

"Is that it?" Connor came down.

"It's was supposed to be two days' time." Jada reminded her.

"I know that but Gretchen called and she threatened me, Connor called and he said he'd send the health inspector and well I can't wait to start buying baby clothes." She squealed.

"What's this all about?" Susan asked.

"We were to have a reveal party for the baby's gender," Stacy said.

"That's interesting." Her mother said. "So what is the baby's gender?" She asked.

"You have to wait until this evening." Stacy waved the cake. "I got decorations and everything." She chirped.

"Let's get to it," I said ignoring Jeremy. "Girl you just saved me." She whispered to her.

"From what?" She asked.

"Jeremy asked me to marry him, I was going to say hell no and confess that I'm married to Connor but then you walked in." she held her stomach.

"You have to tell them during the reveal party." She said.

"I'm planning to I'm tired of them trying to set me up with Jeremy and he isn't all that he seems he's a demon." She hissed.

"Just blurt mom dad Connor is my husband." She shrugged.

"I'm not going to blurt it out." She poked her.

"Fine but make sure you tell them." She said. She put the cake in the refrigerator and then began blowing up balloons.

The tension was thick in the air and she wished she could disappear. My parents trying to force Jeremy on me, Kadian drinking like a fish, Justin pretending he was alright with all that's happening, Connor and I having to look at each other from a distance.

Connor's family was coming over and they were told not to mention anything about marriage. The party had like twelve person celebrating my pregnancy. Jeremy would try to get close to me and I'd refuse his advances. He just wasn't understanding that my hatred for him burnt brighter than the sun.

"Ladies and gentlemen, it's time to bring out the cake," Stacy announced dramatically. "But first you have to give the new mother your gifts."

"Gretchen will go first," Jada said looking at her excited mother-in-law.

"Yay!"

"White people." Her mother shook her head. Why did they have to hate everything? Couldn't they be happy for their daughter?

"It's a pregnancy pillow." She took out the overly big pillow.

"I remember when she was pregnant the pillow took my space." William looked at Connor. "My turn," William said.

"Wait no, you know the baby's gender." Jada said.

"Fine, I'll go last." He sighed.

"Thank you, Willy." She smiled at him.

"Does Jada family have anything to give her?" Gretchen asked expectantly.

"They didn't know I was pregnant," I told her. Her mouth formed in an 'O' and she dropped it.

"I got the mother something," Connor said smiling.

"Really what is it?" Jada said excitedly.

"It's outside." He helped her up and guided her to the door. He opened it and she saw the white Prado with the big red ribbon.

"Oh my god." She said filled with excitement.

"Why did you buy her a car?" Her father asked.

"Every new mother needs a reliable vehicle." He answered not giving away anything and I wanted to hug him so much.

"Cake time." Stacy yelled. They walked back and she and Connor stayed back.

"I love you so much thank you." She whispered.

"I can't have my woman and my baby unprotected." He kissed her forehead. They walked back to the group.

"So Connor and Jada will cut the cake." Stacy said excitedly.

"Why does Connor get to cut the cake?" Susan asked and anyone could see the annoyance on Jada's face.

"Because he can." She snapped and they began.

"What about the baby's father?" Her father asked.

"Oh my god." Kadian rolled her eyes tired of their shit too. "It's none of your goddamn business I want to know if I'm having a niece or nephew." She put her hands flat on the table.

"Fine." She held up her hand in surrender. They took off a slice everyone holding their breaths.

"It's a boy." Jada breathed out loud. "I'm having a boy." She rubbed her belly.

"I'm so excited." Stacy said again. "We're having a baby." She hugged Jada.

"We?" Justin asked.

"She's my best friend if she pregnant then we pregnant." Stacy said to him.

"That's cute." Justin said and Jada saw it between them Justin had a little flare for Stacy.

"Girl code." She smiled.

"Jada I think you should move back home where we can take care of this baby in our setting." Her mother said.

"What's wrong with this setting?" Connor asked. He had been trying to take their insults.

"Grown amongst its own race." Her father chipped in and she sat her head beginning to hurt.

"What exactly is the baby's race?" Gretchen asked.

"Black." Her mother yelled. "I don't know why Jada lives here with your oppressors." She fired.

"Oppressors?" Gretchen questioned.

"Yes, you owned slaves." Her father came in.

"We did not. Is this why you hate us? Because of the past?" Connor asked.

"Yes, that's why they hate all white people." Kadian sipped her drink.

"Kadian shut up." They fired and she chuckled. Kadian didn't really and all the stress was getting to Jada her stomach felt weird like something was wrong.

"Connor," he turned to her. "I think something is wrong with the baby." She looked worried. "I'll get my medical kit." He ran up the stairs Kadian and Stacy soothed her. He came back and placed the stethoscope on her stomach and she felt the flutter. "It's the baby kicking." He said. "But all this stress isn't good." He looked around at her family.
