kayla positioned her phone so he could see half of her face, like her usual selfies.

"hi," she said shyly, biting her lip to try and contain the smile she wanted to show.

"god, you're so beautiful kay.." ashton smiled at her, letting out a small giggle. kayla smiled, looking down.

"kay?" she had never had anybody call her by that before, and it caused an eruption of tingles in her stomach.

"yeah. i thought it fit well." he smiled cheekily, causing her to laugh.

"well if we're giving each other nicknames, can i call you ash?"

"yeah, i'd like that." ash smiled at her. there was a comfortable silence after that, them just smiling at eachother. kayla then heard shouting come from the background, and a very tall boy walked in.

"luke, what are you doing home?" ashton asked the boy, as he came closer to the camera. he was very attractive to say the least, and he had a lip piercing.

"we have band practice in like, 5 minutes man. but is this that girl...?" he waved to her, causing her to shyly wave back.

"i'm kayla." she smiled at him, as he nodded.

"well, i'll let you two be. 5 minutes!" the slam of the door was heard, leaving the two alone again.

"sorry about that." ashton chuckled, scratching the back of his neck nervously.

"it's okay." kayla smiled at him. "so what's your bands name again?"

"5 seconds of summer. and we suck. really bad." he laughed, setting off butterflies in her stomach again.

"aw i doubt that! i should let you get to practice then." kayla smiled, eyeing her peanut butter that she still hasn't got to eat.

"okay babe, i'll talk to you soon? i really liked this. it feels more real than messaging." ashton said whole-heartedly, kayla nodding in agreement. the two ended the video chat, ashton leaving to play his drums and kayla eating her peanut butter and crackers. her phone vibrated once again, the message leaving a smile on her face.

"you looked so beautiful by the way xx"
