The Reid Method: The BeginningAuthor's Note: This story is a re-write of my other Spencer and J.J. Fanfiction: The Story of Spencer Reid and Jennifer Jareau. I've made a few changes from the original. I've wanted to re-write the story for a while. Hopefully this time around the writing will be better.
Chapter One-One Day You're Going To Leave Home
Spencer sat down at the first desk in the middle of the room. He wanted to be as close as he could to the white board 5 feet ahead of him. Not to attract attention, just to simply be the closest to the instructor and the knowledge that would soon fill his head.
Spencer hated attention. It reminded him of when he was in high school, when bullies paid too much attention.
One of the most beautiful girls in school, Alyssa Thompson, asked Spencer to meet her on the football field after school.
He was 12 years old. A child prodigy in a Las Vegas high school.
He should have known better. Why would the prettiest girl in school ask someone like Spencer to meet her outside at the football field? Other girls did though, when they wanted Spencer to do their homework for them. He thought maybe that was why. It would have been better if she had stood him up. Instead she was there, along with the football team and pretty much the whole school.
He wanted to block the rest of the memory of his head. But it was there, like the event had happened yesterday instead of three years ago.
He was now 15 years old. It was his first day at Quantico, the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
He had attended M.I.T. the year before.
His sister, Courtney, is attending the University of Nevada. She is completing the second year of her business degree. Spencer's mother Diana was being taken care of by Courtney back in Las Vegas, their hometown.
Spencer's sister Samantha is living here in D.C. with her husband and three children.
Samantha met Connor when she was just seventeen and then just three months later, she announced that she was pregnant. Cameron is the oldest of the three. He was born on June 24, he's four now, Victoria was next, and then finally Natalia.
Sam studied to be a nurse. It was now at the age of 21, she was finally going to start her dream job.
Hopefully, in a year, Spencer would start his.
Spencer's friend Ethan was also attending Quantico. They were both excited to start classes.
Jennifer Jareau entered the classroom alone.
She had never expected this is where she would attend school.
She seemed to stumble upon legendary Agent David Rossi's lecture being held in the library of her hometown. She was 17, a senior in high school. She had no idea what she wanted to do with her life but she did know that she wanted to get away from her hometown and start a life of her own.
Away from all the pain, the memories, and the reminders of the past.
Her parents, Sandy and Michael, were at home in Pennsylvania. They were stunned by Jennifer's decision to move to Virginia and attend school.
"J.J." her mother had said after she told them the news. Her mother's face was full of concern. Her father said beside her mother on the couch. "Are you sure this is what you want to do?"
Jennifer looked across the room at her parents. "Yes, Mom, I'm sure about this. This is the right thing to do."
"We should be proud Sandy" her father spoke up. "Our daughter is going to be saving lives." They both gave Jennifer a wary smile.
They had become much more protective over the last six years. Not that Jennifer could blame them, not after what happened.
There was a part of Jennifer that missed the laughter and happiness that used to fill the house. Now, it was much too quiet. Jennifer felt a pang of guilt, leaving her parents alone in their empty nest, but she had to do what was right for her.
J.J. sat down at a desk across from two boys. One of them had dark brown hair and looked about eighteen. The other had short light brown hair and warm brown eyes, he looked younger than the other boy. They were talking to each other, excited for classes to start.
The boy with light brown hair looked away when he noticed that Jennifer was looking at him.
The girl sitting at the desk across from them was looking at Spencer. He quickly looked away. Girls always made Spencer nervous. He couldn't talk around them.
When he was sure she wasn't looking, Spencer looked back over at her. She had long blonde hair and blue eyes. She was beautiful. The most beautiful girl Spencer had laid eyes on. He couldn't think that though. She was probably another Allysa. Another mean girl with nothing to do but play mind games.
Still, he couldn't help that he wanted to know her name. He wanted to know her.
Jennifer looked back over at the boys.
She wanted to know that boy that refused to look at her. She wanted to know who he was. She wanted to know him.
