Chapter 8: Speed vs. Speed

The ball was thrown into the air and both players jumped at the same time to win the ball. A loud smack was heard as the ball had been hit at the same time with great force but it took off flying towards Haizaki's team.

Without waiting another second the players began to mark their opponents in a tight defense making either team hard to grab the ball.

Everyone eyed each other searching for a moment that one player would slip up and let the other pass.

Alice on the other hand seemed to have lost Kuroko and decided to help Midorima with marking Haizaki.

She kept a good look out for all the opponents movenents and even the looks they gave each other. Alice couldnt help but smirk at how obvious they were being. She noticed Nijimura give a look to Aomine and then he turned to look for "other" players when it was clear he was searching for the invisible kid and she read it all.

As soon as Nijimura had found Kuroko he threw it and Aomine quickly stepped away from Murasakibara's hold with his fast speed. Everything seemed to be going well and it seemed as if the first point would go to Nijimura's team but it didnt go that way.

Kuroko was quick to spot Aomine's break from Murasakibara's hold and he hit the ball to pass it to him. The path was going straight to Aomine's hands but Alice got in front of the pass rout and mimicked Kuroko's pass to pass it to Akashi who had slipped from Nijimura's hold to receive the pass. Akashi didnt waste a second as he quickly made a three pointer for the team. Akashi's team was on the lead.

No one had moved after seeing that happening in a matter of seconds. Alice had gone up to Akashi and high-fived him as they went to block their opponents again.

"What the-!?" Aomine remarked as he looked at the girl in shock. Not only had she been able to stop the shot she had also copied Kuroko's pass...

"Damn, i didnt think she would do this." Nijimura commented as he grabbed the ball to start the game again.

"What happened!?" Aomine asked as he eyed the girl in disbelief.

"She didnt copy Kuroko, she could do that since the morning. I shouldnt be surprised about this since i saw it but i didnt think she would do that." Nijimura confessed as he gave he ball to Aomine. "I dont doubt she will pass like Kuroko keep your eyes open and be ready!"

"But i can see her! How can she...?" Aomine exclaimed as he wached Nijimura shrug, he turned to face Kuroko who was looking at her with an unreadable expression in his face.

"Dont worry so much Aomine-kun, we'll figure her out soon."

Aomine nodded as he bounced the ball and looked at Murasakibara with an unreadable expression as well.

'Tetsu is right, i will just have to play to figure her out.' Aomine thought as he dodged Murasakibara and pass it to Nijimura.

"I can see you~" Alice announced as she covered Kuroko.

"I knew you wouldnt be able to do that if you didnt see me." Kuroko replied with his usual expressionless face.

"But i can't see you." Alice reasoned to him as she watched Aomine dunk the ball in. "You did scare me when we met and i never really saw you... but right now, it's different."

Kuroko watched the girl as he saw her smirk and he quickly knew she was going to do something to get the lead farther from them.

Akashi looked around to see each of his teamates. Midorima was being marked by Aomine and Murasakibara was being pressured by Haiaki. The only person to really pass it to was Alice but he didnt want to show all of his playing cards in one hit.
