Alice Gunjo (Kuroko no Basket)

Chapter 9: Gunjo Plays Defense

Gunjo looked at Aomine with a look that clearly showed a burning fire on her. She did not move from where she was and was intently observing every movement Aomine made.

'Such an intense constentration!' Midorima thought as he covered Nijimura in a tight defense.

"Heh, i'll win against you Gunjo!" Aomine replied as he stood in a formless stance that only street players use.

'So he plays street basketball eh? That isnt really good for me... so I'll need to just defend for now.' Alice thought quickly as she saw Aomine speed up the pace of the ball once again.

Everyone had stopped breathing, ready to see something amusing from Aomine and the new player Gunjo and they surely did.

Before Aomine had the chance to move to any direction Gunjo had suddenly launched foward with an amazing speed that caught everyone, even Akashi, by surprise. Aomine, however, quickly caught up and bounce the ball away from her reach making him have the chance to move away from the girl.

'So that's how quickly Aomine Daiki moves... However... This won't be enough!' Alice thought as she did a quick turn and ran behind Aomine.

'Tch, she could easily read me, why is she running behind me?' Aomine thought as he ran faster towards the hoop.

"That wont be enough Ao-mi-ne" Alice said lowly just for him to hear and he knew exactly what she was doing now, but it was too late for him to react. The female had said that as soon as he had firm hold of the ball in his hands, ready to do a dunk. Before he knew it the girl behind her had suddenly appeard in front of him and before he could move the ball from her reach Alice had slapped the ball away and quickly ran to catch it.

"There is no damn way someone could have such extreme speed." Nijimura comented as he tried to cover the girl but could not as Midorima stopped him from doing what he wanted.

"Haizaki!" Nijimura yelled out as he noticed the silver headed boy pass through Murasakibara and ran to catch up to the girl.

'Oh, Saki-chan is coming my way, this wont be good... I'm only playing defense and against Aomine at that...' Alice thought as she smiled and passed the ball to Murasakibara who was left uncovered.

"Sorry Saki-chan but I'm not playing against you right now, but against Aomine." Alice warned the delinquent just as they all heard the sound of the net moving swiftly.

"Too scared to play against me Gunjo?" Haizaki asked with a smirk that said challenge but Alice looked at him with a small smile.

"Scared of a wuss like you? Sure. But Saki-chan will have to wait his turn to play against me. Beside I'm not playing offense right now, I'm playing defense against Aomine right now." Alice adviced again as she gave a smirk that gave chills to everyone in the gym.

"Tch, Whatever, if this game becomes boring I'll just jump in..." Haizaki said as he knew the girl had just threatend him to not play against her when she was playing against someone else.

"Gunjo is playing defense, that much i know. On what she just told Haizaki she just intends to play that way till the end. Aomine, I'll make you mark Murasakibara and i'll mark her-" Nijimura was begining to explain to his teammates about Gunjo and the changes he was about to make in the small rest they were having when Aomine interrupted his plans.

"No, I'll play against her and win! This is really fun right now and i wont turn away from the challenge! I'll keep marking her!"

"... Since that is how its going to be... Aomine you keep marking her, Haizaki, you need to mark Akashi in order for us to use Kuroko's passes. I'll help Haizaki mark Akashi, but I'll also mark Murasakibara. Kuroko, try your best to defend Midorima, understood. We need to keep Gunjo bussy with Aomine while we use Kuroko. If this doesnt work, we'll make two players defend Gunjo. Simple Alright. Lets go!" Nijimura commanded as he grabbed the ball from the referee and began the game again.
