She was conventionally pretty Born with looks to catch eyes And a head made for a crown
But fate had her own plans To teach her all of the hurt Which she kept stained on her hands Because it was her actions and error That reflected the opposite Of that in the mirror
All their boasting words Taught her not to be kind To take what she wants No matter the price She would harm with her words And play all her cards Until all that was left Was to fold her own deck
So although her body was meant For ballgowns and jewels Fate gave her no castle Nor gave her the riches Fate gave her no chance Of Prince Charming's kisses
Before it all crumbles Before all hope is lost Fate will teach her to be humble To step off her high horse
She was conventionally pretty Born with looks to catch eyes She had yearned for the crown If only she could But now she yearns only To be understood

This poem was written by my super duper talented friend, Ren afteriwokeupshe just started a new poetry book and it's hecking amazing, so give her some love 💕
Also I'm super proud of how well the gif goes with this. This is from Yona of the Dawn. Yona is a princess who is spoiled and knows nothing of her kingdom until fate teaches her about the real world. Also red is supposed to be the color of fate.
