Chapter song: Slide - by Calvin Harris

I woke up sweating. I tried to move but was pinned down. I smiled when I opened my eyes to see the weight pinning me down was Scott's arm wrapped around my waist. If I didn't have to pee as badly as I did I would have stayed pressed against Scott's body for hours.

I moved his arm off of me as gently as I could. He stirred a bit in his sleep, then his eyes fluttered open. His arm swept across the bed as if he was trying to find me. A breath of relief escaped his lips when he looked up to see me standing by his bed.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you. I had to pee." I laughed nervously.

"It's totally fine. How did you sleep?" He asked pushing himself up to sit against the headboard.

"Better than I have in a long time." I said with a small smile

"Me too" Scott grinned , his hair was ruffled from sleep and his voice was raspy. I wanted to wake up to this every morning. I was pulled from my thoughts when Scott's phone began to ring.

"Hey Stiles" Scott said bringing the phone to his ear and shooting me a smile.

I took that as my cue to go to the bathroom. I rummaged around in the cabinets for a while until I finally found some mouthwash. I was much to impulsive last night to even think about going home and getting some of my things. Once my mouth was as clean as it was going to be I finished up in the bathroom. As I walked back into Scott's room I pulled out my phone to check the time. I was shocked when I saw that it was already 12pm.

I walked into Scott's room and all the air flooded out of my lungs at the sight in front of me. Scott sat on the edge of his bed, staring blankly at his wall with a singular tear running down his now ghostly pale face. His phone was clutched in his hands and he rocked back and fourth.

"Scott?" I questioned as I took a few cautious steps towards him. I kneeled in front of him on the floor. I positioned myself in-between his legs and rested my hands over his. "What's wrong?"

"She has him." Scott cried, "She took Deaton."

I knew exactly who he was talking about. Deaton was like a father to Scott and I was afraid for how Scott would take it if we didn't get to Deaton before it was too late.

"That's what Stiles called to tell you?" I asked

"Yes, he said his Dad and everyone are going to investigate the clinic."

"Okay, let's go then." I stood up and held out my hand for him. He reluctantly grabbed it and pulled him up. I wrapped him in my arms and he buried his head in my shoulder. "I'm here" I whispered. And I knew no matter what happened I would never leave.

Within minutes Scott and I were walking into the clinic. I gave Scott a minute alone to talk to the sheriff and stood outside trying to gather my thoughts.

Before I even had time to think Stiles approached me. "How is he?" He asked

"He's handling it as well as he can." I sighed I was worried for him, I really was. "He's talking with your dad right now."

I followed Stiles inside and caught the very end of the Sheriff and Scott's conversation.

"Alright, we're gonna do everything we can." the sheriff said patting Scott's shoulder. "Right now the best thing you can do is go back to school." He looked at the three of us with a mixture of sympathy and sadness in his eyes, before turning his back to us and marching off.
