"What happens when you go to space?" A familiar voice said from Keith's right side, causing him to turn to face them.

"What?" He questioned, blinking slowly at her. "What do you mean?"

"I mean, when you go to space... What will happen? How long will you be gone?" She frowned, turning to face him as well.

"Well, it depends on the mission." He shrugged, looking down at his clasped hands that rested nicely in his lap.

Silence followed their words, leaving a slightly uncomfortable air to radiate off of the two kids. It wasn't until the girl finally spoke up that Keith finally understood the question. "I'm scared you won't ever come back." She whispered, closing her eyes as she attempted to avoid letting tears fall.

Keith's eyebrows creased as he scooted closer to the girl, placing one of his hands on hers. "Hey, I will come back. I'm the best pilot the Garrison's got, nothing can happen to me. I promise." He said gently, giving her an encouraging smile.

The wind gusted around them, causing petals to fittle from the blossom tree that they resided under. Keith looked up as they fell, observing their graceful feature as they ultimately plummeted 8 feet to the grass below. The girl didn't dare continue the conversation, fearing putting herself into a rut that she couldn't crawl out of.

"Keith?" She said quietly, causing the raven-haired boy to turn his gaze towards her.

"Yes, y/n?"

"Can you stay with me tonight?"

Keith shuddered at the memory as he sat at the edge of his bed. "Get out of my head." He growled, shaking his head vigorously. He clutched his bedsheets in his fists before pushing himself to his feet and storming to the Training Room.

In order to get there, he had to pass the infirmary, meaning he had to look at her again. He entered the dark room slowly, making his way towards her pod. He put his hand on the glass, letting a tear fall from his face. "y/n," He whispered, looking up at their face.

"Are you crying?" Lance smirked from the infirmary entrance, leaning against the wall. His arms were crossed and his eyebrow was raised, clearly in a "let's fucking roast Keith" stance. Keith clenched his fist, eyebrows furrowing at the other teens voice.

"What are you doing here, Lance?" Keith hissed, not turning to look at him.

"Just came to check out the package. She is quite the beauty, thought maybe I'd swing in once she wakes up." He purred, running a hand through his hair.

"Don't talk about her like that." He growled, trying his damn hardest to keep himself calm.

"I'm just saying after being unconscious for who knows how long she might need some lovin' from good ol' Lancey Lance." He hummed, closing his eyes confidently.

Keith swung his fist, making contact with the Cuban boy's face with ease. "I said stop." He hissed, standing over the other boy. Lance's eyebrows creased as he stood up and turned on his heel, ultimately deciding not to push Keith any further.

Keith watched him go before returning to the girl's pod, sitting next to it and leaning against it's cold edge.

The boys head snapped back once Keith's fist came into contact with his cheek, causing the smaller one to fall onto the floor. That didn't stop Keith--Keith charged further, sitting on top of the boy to keep him from escaping and began punching his face repeatedly. No mercy was shown as he beat this kid. The kid's name was Reece, a lowly asshole from Keith's class that felt he was better than the raven-haired boy.

A bulky professor came running in, pulling Keith up off of the kid. "Hey, Kogane!" He growled, gripping the boys arm tightly. "Get up off of Richardson." He hissed as Keith started to struggle out of his grip.

"Let me go!" Keith yelled, glaring at the boy he had just beaten up. "You." He hissed, his eyebrows furrowing. "If you touch her ever again I swear to God I will not stop next time." The girl stood off to the side, holding her hand up to her mouth, tears streaming down her heated cheeks.

"Kogane," The professor said, "Principals Office. Now." He began pulling the young teen through the gathered crowd, towards the large building that housed the higher powers of the school.

Keith pulled his knees up to his chest, resting his chin on top of them. "Oh, y/n." He muttered, closing his eyes as he spoke. "What happened to you?"
