Chapter 6 : Face to face

[ Lauren’s POV ]

{ In the bus }

“Look at this guy, he’s cute, isn't he?” Emy pointed at the boy who was wearing a blue shirt.

“Wait, I may have seen him somewhere...”

“Go and talk to him, I’ll stay there!” Emy exclaimed.

“But I don’t ...” I didn’t have the time to finish, Emy has already pushed me towards Kevin.

I slip and Kevin caught me.

“Hey! Lauren?” now there were only few inches between our faces.

“Are you okay? Your face is all red!”

“I just got a little hot in there haha...” obviously it was a lie but this is so embarrassing! I also heard Emy laughing...

“I didn’t know that you were still at school,” he looked at my uniform.

“Do I really look that old huh?” I whispered to myself but he has heard it...

“No! I mean um... Kiseop warned me not to approach you last time. I’ve never seen him being so protective towards someone before... He’s your boyfriend right?”

“Don’t worry, she’s still single! Kiseop is our brother,” Emy winked at Kevin.

I have completely forgotten the fact that she was here too...

Emy and Kevin introduced themselves and greeted each other, then I hurry her outside the bus when we arrived. I didn’t want her to cause another awkward situation...

“Talk to you later,” Kevin waved goodbye.

After school, on the way back home...

Emy suggested me to use our school project as an excuse to call Kevin. I felt so ashamed that I had to do this, but I didn’t have a better idea to catch his attention...

I tried to call him but he didn’t answer.

So I left him a message: “Hi, it’s Lauren. In economical science class, we have to create an advertising poster aiming at promoting a shop. We have selected Bonjour but I don’t know if you mind... Um... Please call me back.”

Now, he’ll think that I'm retarded. Was it so difficult to speak properly?

“Hello?”

“I heard your message. It’s okay to use our shop for the topic of your poster. It’s actually a great idea! I would be delighted to help you. You can come at Bonjour if you need to take any photos.”

“Thank you!”

“She’s comiiing!!!” Emy shouted.

I tried to cover the phone with my hand but failed...

“Okay, I’ll wait for you. Emy you can also come.”

“No, thanks I'm very busy!”

“Busy with what?” I asked.

“Um...” she tried to find an excuse.

“I have two dramas to watch,” she said with a creepy smile.

“Hurry up or you’ll be late.” she whispered in my ears.

I suddenly panicked, what am I going to do?

“So see you in 10 minutes.” I finally answer.

“Okay see you.”

{ At Bonjour }

It was 6PM, the shop was closed but Kevin was still in there alone. I knocked on the café’s front door. He came and opened it.

“Here are the pastries and these are the coffees...” he said while showing me the food. I wasn’t really paying attention.

“You can bring this at home and take other photos if you want,” he handed me a menu cart.

*photo flash noise*

I took a photo of him. He looked at me surprised. Then, we burst out laughing awkwardly.

Why did I do that?
