Always Together (After Mockingjay Story)

Chapter 13

(Finnick's POV)

Katniss comes out the restaurant and gives me her phone. "What did you find?" I ask her.

"See for yourself. Go on my pictures and read the texts," she orders me.

I unlock her phone and go on her photos to read the conversation. He was texting a girl named Madge (I know she is supposed to be dead and from District 12, but I thought she should be in this). It read:

🔵Madge: did you do it yet?

🔴Gale: what? Kidnap Peeta? Not yet

🔵Madge: what? Why is it taking so long?

🔴Gale: it's kind of hard to steel a person, you know

🔵Madge: I don't care! Just hurry up and bring him here

🔴Gale: I'm trying okay?

🔵Madge: well try harder. I want to meet him. I want him to love me instead of that Katniss loser

🔴Gale: katniss is not a loser!

🔵Madge: yeah? Whatever. Just do it

🔴Gale: I will. Just give me some time

🔵Madge: the time is ticking away

🔴Gale: I don't have to give him to you

🔵Madge: yes you do. We made a deal

🔴Gale: well the deal is off. He's mine now

This must have been from a couple days ago before he kidnapped Peeta.

The girl named Madge said she wanted him to love her instead of Katniss and Gale wants Katniss to love him instead of Peeta. I feel so bad for them. I feel bad that Katniss and Peeta can't just be together. They obviously love each other a lot, but something keeps getting in the way. I'm glad nothing happened like that with me and Annie. I mean, she was taken to the Capitol, but she came back and unharmed. Peeta was hijacked to hate and kill Katniss! That's horrible!

"What should we do now?" She asks. I see tears starting to form in her eyes, but she's keeping them in. She's so strong.

"Um.. Well maybe we can contact Madge. She might know where Gale took Peeta," I suggest. She thinks it over for a few seconds and then nods her head.

"Yeah, that sound like a good idea. That's a smart plan," she says.

"Okay, but we have to get her number. Do you remember or see it?" I ask.

She shakes her head and sighs. "Ugh. No I didn't," she says looking down at her feet. She looks back up at me with hope in her eyes. "But I did find an address in his notes. I took a picture of it," she informs me and takes her phone. She looks through her pictures and gives it back to me.

"Do you think this might be where he is keeping him? Do you even think this is in district 12?" She asks with hopeful eyes.

"Um, I'm not sure but we can check. Let's go back to my place and we can search it up," I suggest.

"Yeah. Wow Finnick, when did you become full of great ideas," she asks. I smile feeling accomplished. But I still feel empty and sad. The only thing that can fix it is getting Peeta back.

(Katniss's POV)

Finnick and I go back to his house. We get there to find Fin asleep so we won't have to worry about him for a while.

"Did you guys get anything?" Annie asks coming over to us.

"Well we found out Gale was working with someone named Madge and she wanted Peeta, but Gale closed the deal. I think Madge wants Peeta and Gale went along with it so he can get me," I explain.

I realize how dumb it sounds and I just want to go back and smack everything out of Gale. What's wrong with him?! And what's wrong with Madge? She told Gale to steal Peeta so she can have him and steal him alway from me! I don't even know who she is, but I already hate her.

"Oh," is all Annie says.

I understand that she doesn't have a stable mind and is probably having trouble processing all of this so it doesn't really matter to me. I know she misses him and wants him back too. We all do.

"But we also found something else. Katniss found this address in his notes," Finnick tells her. I pull out my phone and show Annie.

"We need a computer so we can search this place up. Can I use yours?" I ask.

I don't give her time to answer before I'm rushing down the hall into the room with their computer. I log on and launch the internet. I type in the address and there are only a few results. I click on the first one and it says that it's an old abandoned warehouse. People stopped using it because people don't even go to that part of town and no one lives there. I go to the maps and see that's in in District 12. It's in a part of the Seam in which I have never gone. I get the directions and print it out.

"So you really think this is where Gale is keeping him?" Annie asks from behind me.

"Well I can't be totally sure until we go and find out, but I think so. It's empty so it's a good place to hide someone. Why else would he have it in his notes?" I say. She just nods her head understandingly.

"Okay, so how are we going to get him back?" Finnick asks.

"Well I would go to the police to-"

"No! We are not going to the police. We are going to do this ourselves because this is our fight. Not theirs," I tell her.

"Katniss is right. The police don't have to get involved in everything. We can do this on our own and we will," Finnick tells her.

"Okay then we won't get the police, but we will need some help. Just in case we need a little extra help. You never know who might come in handy when a situation pops up," I say. I have the perfect person in mind. "Have you guys kept in touch with Johanna?" I ask.

Finnick smiles and I know he likes the idea of getting Johanna to join.

"Yeah, we have her number," Annie says and gets up.

"Good. Tell her to come, but tell her to come quick. We should hurry up with this plan. Do you guys have Beetee too? We might need his smart brain," I explain. Annie leaves the room.

Annie comes back with a phone book and I open it to their numbers. I call them and ask them if they can quickly come here because we need them. I look over to Finnick and see he's smiling a little and nodding his head while leaning on the desk. I could tell he likes the plan so far. I just hope this plan works and Peeta will be home. That's all I want.

To have Peeta back. I can not lose the boy with the bread again.
