"Guys can we please drop by my place first? We won't be long I promise, I just really want to see my family."
Ashton begged, knowing that Calum probably really wanted to see his mother as much as he wanted to see his own. The boys all nodded to each other while Cherry stayed quiet staring at Luke in the midst of their small conversation. Where did he go when they had holidays and days off? Did he still have contact with his father? Or did he live with one of his uncles? Did he have contact with Uncle Adam? Millions of thoughts buzzed through Cherry's head, overwhelming her. She had questions and was determined to find the answers.
When she broke out of her train of thoughts, all the boys were heading out of the tour bus and ashton was the last one, politely waiting for Cherry. (He may or may not wanted to get to know her a little better and he thought that this was a good starting point)
Cherry scurried over to the door and let Ashton close it behind her. The warm afternoon sun light shone on her face and she smiled.
"Glad it isn't raining anymore, wouldn't want to slip in front of Ca- you guys."
Cherry coughed awkwardly, staring down at the ground while her and Ashton stayed at the back, following the boys to a common Taxi area.
"Oh my God,"
Ashton barely squealed, a small grin appearing on his lips. Cherry was confused. Was there.. lettuce in her teeth or something? She didn't remember eating lettuce..?
"Why are you-"
"You finally talked to me!"
Ashton tried to keep his voice and excitement low so that the boys wouldn't turn their heads.
"What do you mean? I've talked to you b-"
"No I mean you're the one who started the conversation."
"Oh"
"Yeah"
It was kind of awkward after that. They exchanged friendly smiles and believe me, Cherry wanted to say something more; ask those questions that she had on the tip of her tongue but she just couldn't, no matter how badly they wanted to escape from her lips.
Ashton licked his lips in anticipation. Should he start a new conversation? This could be his like, only chance to talk to her without the boys pestering them. What if she brushed him off like before? He knew she didn't see him like she saw Calum or Michael. She thought he was normal. And Ashton wanted to prove that in fact, no, he was nothing close to normal; whatever normal was.

"Oh my goodness, Ashton! You've changed!"
Ashton's mother stood in awe as she stared at her twenty-two year old son.
"Oh, I have to give you something. Late birthday present."
Ashton's mother hurried out of the living room and he let out a sigh of relief. He turned to his sister and they had a small conversation about boys and how she should be careful around them. On the other hand, his younger brother was having a friendly (well not so friendly) conversation with Michael about FIFA. Michael boasted about how he beat Calum many times. (which Calum took as an insult and joined the conversation, all of them laughing and giggling in the next minute)
Cherry sat beside Luke, feeling quite left out in all of the commotion- and so did Luke. (ok truth is, he did care for his sister. usually, he'd be chatting away, telling Ashton's you her brother that he in fact beat both Michael and Calum but he kinda wanted to keep Cherry company)
