A heavy arm slung over my shoulder as I walked towards my locker. I looked to check who it was though I already new, Jason. My eyes met his and he smiled. Jason and I had been friends since freshman year, he was liked by everyone, the boy next door. He was smart and played baseball, plus he was great looking with sandy blond hair and hazel eyes. Girls drewled over him almost as often as they drewled over Jared. "Johnson, really?" He asked me with a qustioning gaze.
"Rumors" I replied shrugging.
"I saw you leave with him the other day," I thought I heard hurt in his voice but he quickly plastered a smile onto his face, "I mean first Cole and now Jared? If I'd known you were into jocks I could've hoocked you up with some guys from the baseball team, we have just as nice uscles." He said grinning.
I Laughed and shooked my head as we finally reached my locker, "Holly's been asking you to do that for her for years now" I said grabbing my books and shoving them into my backpack. When I first met Jason he'd run into me in the hall and cought me when I'd tripped. Then he asked me "Walk much". To which I replied, "Yeah I'm so skilled in it that I no longer run into to people". Friends ever since. When he first met Holly she had constantly flirted ith him but he wouldn't flirt back, she always said it was because he was into me. She's been proved wrong these last four years when he's dated tons of other girls none being me, not that I wanted it to be, simply friends. Once Holly figured she was getting no where with Jason, she moved on to him helping her win over the hearts of the baseball team, to which he always turned her down.
"Holly's not you" Jason replied dropping his voice at the end of his statement.
"Everything alright Jay?" I asked, something seemed off about him. He was always the care free guy who made you laugh when you where down, although he did take school extremly seriously saying things like, grades lead to colledge, colledge lead to careers, and careers lead to money. Which is true enough, Holly never liked it though, mostly because he always said it to her when she would want to go to a party instead of study, which was always.
"I just can't belive you'd chose Jared over..." He stopped what he was saying and shock his head covering his face with his hand. What the hell was going on? It was like he was nervous which he never was.
"Cole?" I ask thinking it was the only reasonible answer. I mean sort of reasonable obviously I wouldn't go back to him after what'd he'd done to me in the hallway. He'd shown his true colors and they were very, very angery.
"No, no, you know what nevermind." He said shacking his head no again and running his hand through his hair. There was deffinatly something he wasn't telling me, but I'd dig for it later, I had to run home really quickly and change before heading over to Jared's, I did tell him I'd come directly from school, but I was not wearing apropriate date clothes. Holly showed up seconds after I closed my locker and through her arms over Jason's and I's shoulders.
"Hey, my besties." She said really enthusastic. She must still be on her buzz about being right about being invited over by Jared, she never let those things go. "Jay, did Mags here tell you about her date with Jared Johnson?" Holly asked turning her head twords him witha hudge grin on her face. She'd just conferemmed what I'd thought previously, she was still on her buzz.
"No, she failed to metion that" Jason growled out in a tone I'd never heard him use before. He stepped out of Holly's arms. "I'll catch you guys later" He said with a hint of hurt in his voice before turning and stalking down the hallway.
"Woah, girl remember when I use to say he was into you," Holly says staring at where Jason had just turned and gone down the hallway. I nod and roll my eyes at the same time, "Don't you roll your eyes at me, turst me that whole tantrum he just through was out of jealousy" She countined.
