Connor re-activated himself at around 8 AM the next morning. He scanned his surroundings, seeing Alice was still asleep on his shoulder. He briefly smiled, and gently tapped her. She jerked up, surprised, and turned her head to face Connor.

"Good morning, Alice."

"Hi Connor." She replied, sleepily.

Connor stood up and placed the blankets Alice was using onto the interrogation table. After doing so, Hank entered the room, prompting Alice to run over to Connor's side and grabbed his hand.

She must be afraid of him. I wonder why.

"Hey Connor and er- Alice."  Connor waved back to Hank while Alice stood behind him shyly.

Concerned, Hank scrunched up his nose and whispered to Connor. "What's with her?"

He shrugged in response and looked down at Alice, who still was gripping onto his hand.

"Connor can I speak to you for a second?" Hank asked.

"Sure." He let go of Alice's hand and mouthed "I'll be back soon." Him and Hank walked out of the interrogation room and stood outside near the doorway.

"What are we going to do with the deviant?" Hank questioned.

"Kara? I'm not sure, what do you think we should do?" Connor replied.

He thought for a second. "Maybe we should send it back to Cyberlife."

"What would they do?"

"Deactivate her obviously. She's a deviant!"

"B-But what about Alice?" Connor stuttered, thinking.

"She'd probably be sent to a group home or something, I don't know. Why does it matter?"

"Because she clearly has an attachment to Kara, and she already lost her father."  Connor replied, somewhat bothered by Hank's ignorance.

Alice then butted in, peeking outside the interrogation room. "No! You can't deactivate Kara! It's not fair!"

Hank and Connor both turned to look at her, shocked that she was even listening in the first place.

"A-Alice! You aren't supposed to leave." Connor gently nudged her back into the interrogation room and locked it, she leaned against the door and was silently crying, though he was able to hear her. He sighed and turned to look back at Hank.

"Maybe you should let them see each other, I can bring the deviant in here." Hank suggested. "You should also stay in there, just to keep an eye on them."

"Alright then." Connor nodded and slowly pushed the interrogation room door open. He looked at Alice, who asked him to pick her up. He lifted her off of the ground and she wrapped her tiny arms around him, crying. They sat down on the bench as Alice continued crying.

"Please don't deactivate Kara! I don't want her to leave!" She begged.

Connor hushed her. "Don't worry, Alice. I won't let that happen." She continued to hug him as Kara entered the room. Her eyes immediately darted over to Connor and Alice, causing her to smile briefly as Alice tore her hands away from the back of Connor. She ran up to Kara and jumped into her arms, yelping in joy in the process.

"Kara! You're okay!"

"Of course I am, Alice. I was more worried about you."

"I'm alright, Connor stayed here and took care of me last night. He's really nice!" She replied, with a look of relief on her face.

"Oh, did he?" Kara looked up at Connor. "Thank you very much Connor. I appreciate it." She smiled at him, slightly confusing him.

He smiled back at her in response, seemingly feeling something. He could hear Alice whisper in Kara's ear that they were discussing her fate previously. She stood up and stared in Connor's direction.

"Are you guys really going to send me to be deactivated?"

"N-No! That was just a suggestion from my partner! We're still trying to figure out what to do." Connor replied, stuttering nervously.

She then looked down. "Can't you just let us go? I just want to protect Alice."

"Kara, I don't think we can just let you go, I'm serious when I say I'm trying to figure out what to do, but we still need to keep you for a little while to investigate." Connor answered, feeling bad for the two. After saying that, Hank entered the interrogation room, holding his car keys.

"How about we continue this discussion after lunch? My treat." He suggested, a twinkle in his eye. The group nodded in response and all filed out of the room and then outside to Hank's automatic car where they headed to a small food truck on a road a couple miles from the police station.
