The six super-heroes sat in the waiting room for two full hours before the surgery was finished, Tony and Steve were holding each other as they cried.
Even though, Steve wasn't Oliver's father-he still cared for the boy a lot. He did help Tony a lot when Oliver was just a baby, it was definitely hard on the both of them when the 'Civil War'. Oliver was stuck in the middle and actually was with Steve even though he decided not to choose a side and stay out of the battle.
"Oliver's surgery was a success and the bullet has been removed, you can see him now." one of the nurses said coming out into the waiting room, the six heroes sighed in relief and followed the nurse to Oliver's hospital room.
Clint, Nat and Vision were already sat inside the room, Nat was holding the unconscious boy's hand. Peter held Wanda's hand as they walked into the room, "O-Oliver?" Peter whispered at the boy who lied in the bed not moving.
Oliver's breaths were slow but deep, he was stable but hadn't woken up yet. Peter starting crying at the sight of his best friend in the bed, "Peter, do you want to sit down?" Natasha offered to give her seat beside Oliver to the crying boy.
Peter nodded taking the seat beside his friend and held Ollie's hand, "Hey, Ollie." Peter said quietly to the sleeping boy.
Tony laid a hand on Peter's shoulder. The two shared a look of sadness, Tony held Peter's hand that wasn't holding Oliver's.
"Is he going to be okay?" Peter asked Vision who performed the surgery on Oliver, "He lost a lot of blood and the bullet was deep into his stomach, but yes he will be fine." Vision replied.
"Do you know we he'll wake up?" Tony asked, "Not really sure, can I talk to you in the hallway really quick with you and Steve?" Natasha asked.
The men nodded following her into the hall, "We had to rip his binder, and he may not wake up for at least two to three days. It didn't have the guts to say that in front of Peter, he's already cried enough today." Nat said.
"The binder is fine, they are only 50 dollars and Ollie needed a new one anyway. What are we supposed to do for three days though?" Steve replied looking over at Tony who was in tears which he had every right to be, especially when his son was going to be unconscious for another three days.
The three went back into the room, everyone was comforting each other to the best of their abilities. Peter had not moved from his position holding Oliver's hand, Peter got up from his chair leaning over Oliver and kissed him on the forehead.
"Wake up, Ollie," he whispered to the boy and gave him a hug before giving his chair to one of the other heroes, Peter stood beside Bucky and Sam. He smiled at the two sadly.
"I'm not usually a fan of you, kid but come here," Bucky said hugging the boy.
Over time all of the heroes said what they needed to say to the sleeping before leaving and giving the chair to the next.
Peter and Steve stayed with Oliver the whole time, Oliver hadn't moved a muscle this whole time. The heroes were allowed to see Oliver after the surgery at nine and the two heroes were still sat with the boy until twelve.
Although Steve wanted to stay with his kid all night- he knew that he probably shouldn't.
Peter, on the other hand, found a way to finally fall asleep even though it took him a while. He realized that if he went to sleep time would go faster so Oliver would wake up faster as well, or that's what he believed.
Steve walked into Tony's lab with a bowl of warm oatmeal and a cup of coffee knowing he didn't sleep at all that night.
"Tony? How are you feeling?" Steve asked setting the food in front of the man, Tony was hunched over his desk work on a project trying to ease his mind, his eyes were sore and bloodshot.
"I'm fine, Steve." he replied taking a sip of his coffee before chugging it down, "Do you need anything else?" Steve asked wanting to do anything to help his heartbroken friend.
"A hug, if that's not too much." he quietly replied, Steve, turned Tony's chair around so he could see his face and hugged the man.
Tony looked rough, "You know he's going to get better, he's not going to stay like this forever." Steve said patting the man on the back.
"Now eat up before your breakfast gets cold," Steve said pushing the bowl of oatmeal closer to Tony, he sighed but he was thankful for having a friend like Steve.
Peter woke up next to the unconscious boy, he wished it was all just a dream but sadly it wasn't. "Morning, Ollie," he said to the boy, the continuous beeps of the heart monitor were beginning to drive him crazy- Peter got up from the chair and walked into the elevator.
He went into the living room where all of the Avengers were sitting in their own sadness, "Hey, guys." Peter said quickly before sitting on the couch with the rest of them.
"How's Oliver, any changes?" Bucky asked hoping for anything, "No, same as last night." Peter replied with a sigh before leaning his head on Nat's shoulder who was sat beside him.
"Have you guys eaten anything yet?" Peter asked the group on the couch, "No, are you hungry?" Natasha asked.
Peter nodded, he along with Nat and Clint got up from the couch and walked to the kitchen. "Are waffles okay?" Nat asked grabbing the box of mix from the cupboard, Peter nodded in reply.
A week passed and Peter, Tony and Steve were asleep in Oliver's hospital room on the chairs. Peter was holding one of Oliver's hands tightly while he was asleep, he couldn't let go of the boy again.
Oliver's hand twitch as he realized someone was holding his hand, he couldn't seem to open his eyes but he felt the presence of three other people.
It felt like he would have to pry his eyes open but with time the glue let go and he slowly opened his eyes. At first, he was blinded by how bright the white room.
He looked to his left to see Peter, asleep holding his hand this whole time.
On his right were Tony and Steve who were also asleep in those uncomfortable plastic chairs, the men looked like they hadn't shaved for quite a while. He looked back at Peter and smiled, Oliver used all of his little strength to squeeze Peter's hand.
Peter's eyes shot open and looked at the boy on the hospital bed, "Oliver?" Peter whispered Oliver nodded his head.
"Hi, Peter," he replied with a cough, Peter quickly grabbed the untouched glass by his side and held it in front of Oliver.
He slowly drank some of the water, "Thank you, Peter." he said quietly.
"I missed you so much, Ollie," Peter replied sitting closer to the boy, Oliver placed a hand on Peter's cheek causing Peter to start crying
"W-why are you crying?" Oliver asked, "I was scared, I was so scared of losing you, Oliver. I am so sorry I left you on that roof-top, I thought if I left I could protect you. I was wrong, you got hurt because of me." Peter replied as Oliver wiped away his tears.
"Peter, this isn't your fault, you were just trying to protect me. It was my fault, I went to the fight with the Vulture but I was told to go home. I didn't listen because I could deal with seeing you hurt, Peter. I couldn't-" Peter cut the boy by kissing him again.
Of course, Oliver was startled at first like last time but he soon melted into the kiss.
Peter laid his forehead against Oliver's, "We are way too much about each other." Peter said causing a chuckled out of Oliver.
