Chapter 2 ~furry friend:

When the boy is around General Winter, he doesn't feel cold anymore. He's not exactly warm either, mostly because of the harsh aura around him, but it was mostly warm.

The young nation tried to make small talk with General Winter, but failed in the end. General Winter doesn't do small talk, he barely talked in the first place.

The walk was short and quiet, a bit too quiet. The tension between the two grew more and more as time past. General Winter stopped in front of a cave, with the very distracted boy bumping into him.

"Here we are" General Winter stated, watching startled boy get up. The boy rushed into the dark cave happily, being careful not to drop any wood.

The young nation stopped when he felt something blocking him. He put the wood to the side and touched the object. The object was warm and fuzzy, it's touch seemed to comfort him.

General Winter walked towards the young boy, his body glowing in the dark, revealing the object to be a small bear cub.

The cub was covered in a little blood and had a small scar on it's stomach. The boy looked at it sadly, the cubs mother was nowhere to be seen around them. The boy pet the cub gently trying not to wake it up.

The cub leaned towards the boys touch, waking up, it licked the boys hand. The boy went to pet the cub again, this time he felt a shock go through him, along with information about the young cub.

"Oh my..." said the boy as he saw the memory of the cub's mother killed. The boy started crying for the cub, realizing that the dead mother bear was in the cave with them.

"hurry over here and help me make a fire" General Winter announced near a flat spot in the cave.

The boy was about to yell at the man's hurtful attitude but he stopped himself, reminding himself that he probably hasn't seen the cub's memories.

'Your right' a sweet voice said in his head. Startled, the boy jumped a bit. 'who are you' the boy said urgently in his head, hoping he is not insane. 'Relax kid, I'm that cub that is next to you'.

The boy slowly looked next to him, the cub was staring at the boy with a sassy look in his eyes.

"Boy, do you want to live? Or freeze to death" General Winter thundered at the boy, obviously not patient, also a tad bit worried about the boy but he will never admit it.

The boy ran towards the man to help him start the fire, forgetting the weird encounter with the cub.

The fire was completed and it was so warm, something the boy hasn't felt yet. The boy's stomach started to grumble, making the boy turn red of embarrassment.

General winter looked at the boy, then to the cub that somehow got its way next to the boy, curled up in a ball.

"You're hungry, aren't you?" General Winter said with a kind, but rough, voice. The boy nodded slowly, still embarrassed.

"Why don't you kill that bear beside you and eat it?" General Winter questioned.
