As Mark walked, he tried to talk to Dark, but never heard anything back from the demon.

"At least I can talk to you Chica." Mark sighed with a light smile as he glanced down at his dog trotting alongside him, her nose buried to the ground to smell everything.

Mark abruptly froze when he spotted a group of demons patrolling the sidewalks, presumably looking for humans to kill.

Mark slipped into the shadows, but not before a demon noticed him and pointed at him.

Mark held his breath as they approached, praying that they would just leave him alone.

"Dark, it's great to see ya!" One of the demons exclaimed, catching Mark off guard.

They can't see my eyes, Mark realized, the dark haired male clearing his throat before speaking.

"I've been having some...difficulties, with Anti as of late."

"You okay? Your voice isn't as deep as usual." One of the other demons remarked.

"Dude, you don't tell the most powerful demon that his voice sounds weird." The first demon hissed, punching their counterpart in the arm.

"Ow! Sorry." The second demon apologized.

"I'll let it slide this time." Mark growled to sound intimidating, the two demons shrinking back slightly.

"T-thank you." The second demon stammered.

"We'll keep looking for Anti so we can kill him." The first demons added hastily.

"No, leave him to me." Mark directed sternly.

"Of course." The first demon nodded in understanding.

"Have you seen Fe-Xilef or Mad?" Mark corrected himself, refraining from using Felix's real name.

"Last time we saw them, they were heading back towards your house to speak to you." The second demon informed Mark.

"Good. You're both dismissed." Mark added with a wave of his hand as if he was shooing away pesky flies, hoping he was acting how Dark did since he was apparently considered the most powerful demon.

The two demons nodded hastily before abruptly disappearing, allowing Mark to breathe out a sigh of relief.

As Mark stepped from the shadows, he felt a limp form in his throat as he looked across the street, a familiar figure standing not far from him.

Amy.

Mark glanced back at his previous hiding spot, wondering if he should stay out of sight until she was gone.

Before Mark could react, Amy, or the demon she was now possessed by, ran at him with blinding speed, the demon pinning Mark against the wall with her arm against his neck.

"A-Amy." Mark choked out weakly, gasping for air while the demon's cold black eyes bore into his.

"I...I can't sense a demon in you..." Amy's demon murmured in surprise as she removed her arm, allowing Mark to breathe.

Mark instantly retaliated by reaching out towards his former girlfriend, gently grabbing her hand in his.

"I need you back, I can't survive this without you." Mark pleaded desperately.

The effect of his words were instantaneous, the demon staggering back as their eyes color switched from black to Amy's normal shade of brown.

"Mark? Oh my god, you're okay!" Amy exclaimed happily as she ran into Mark's arms, burying her face in his chest as he wrapped his arms around her.

Chica barked as she ran up to Amy, the energetic puppy nearly tackling her to the ground as Chica showered Amy with kisses.

"I've missed you too bub." Amy laughed as she lightly pushed Chica away from her face.

"I hope Jack's doing okay." Mark muttered under his breath as he gazed out at the horizon.

As a matter of fact, he was not.

"Why won't you just give up and let me win?!" Anti huffed in irritation for what felt like the millionth time, earning a weary sigh from Jack as he trudged on.

"I got that PMA ya badger butthole." Jack replied, earning a laugh from the demon.

"That's a new insult I'll have to add to the book of names I've been called." Anti remarked.

"Look, I don't care what you do, but just shut up!" Jack snapped impatiently.

"What're ya going to do if I don't, huh? Scream at me until I'm deaf?" Anti countered, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

"The thought has crossed my mind." Jack retorted.

"I know, I'm in your mind you stupid goldfish." Anti reminded Jack.

"You're also thinking of Mark and Dark." Anti added in a thoughtful tone.

"How can I not? You killed Dark and almost killed Mark!" Jack blurted, causing the demon to fall uncharacteristically silent.

"It's his fault for being the most powerful demon. If he wasn't, then I wouldn't have to worry about him, or Xilef, or Mad." Anti finally spoke up.

"Why are you so obsessed with power?" Jack questioned curiously.

"It's because it's nacho." Anti admitted reluctantly.

"Nacho?" Jack repeated in confusion.

"It's nacho business." Anti finished.

Jack rolled his eyes as Anti laughed, the rest of the walk towards any kind of shelter filled with annoying jokes of the same caliber.
